| Summary | ofthe main | What a fantastic 12 months we have witnessed. | |||
| achievements | ofthe charity, | Rising from the ashes ofCOVID we had the 2021 | |||
| identifying the difference the charity's work has made to the circumstances ofits beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | Phoenix Ball, which whilst it wasn't attended to the levels we had planned, was a resounding success and raised a significant amount offunds for the Friends. This was followed hot on the heels by the Christmas Fair. The attendance was incredible and showed not only the school community's appetite for putting lockdowns |
| behind us, but also mirrored how society as a |
| whole also wanted to react. As a new committee, |
| we arrived in post with little or nothing to show for |
| being a thriving PTA (through no fault ofexisting |
| members). We have improved this immensely by |
| purchasing essential equipment such as tea urn, |
| bain-marie, disco lights, shelving in the cupboard |
| and a large gazebo, all ofwhich allows us to put |
| on quality events. The pop-up Mother's Day store |
| was another huge success! The fashion show |
| was an amazing event! I would run out of |
| superlatives. The venue, the beautiful main |
| staircase with over 14Q people crammed in to |
| watch a modern and professional show ofthe |
| latest clothing styles from the catwalks of Milan. | |||||
| A huge thank you to Sophie at Milla Boutique for | |||||
| staging a truly wonderful evening. The annual |
| Easter chocolate tombola is another example of |
| the team taking a simple idea and making it their |
| own. Tea towels. A wonderful idea amazingly |
| executed. We have also seen a drive to put on | |||||
| bigger and better discos for the children. Whilst |
| making money, these are essential events to |
| ensure the social development ofthe students in |
| the school. We even managed to run the |
| inaugural Tranby Golf Day! We finished the |
| financial year with the roaring success ofthe | |||||
| Summer Fete. We booked the weather and with |
| the DJ we ensured an amazing event, selling out |
| ofbeer for the first time at an event. We had also | |||||
| recently paid to install an external electrical ring |
| main to the pavilion to help run future outdoor |
| events and the difference it made in ensuring a |
| successful event was immeasurable. The |
| downside has been an inability to grow the |
| Friends committee. The merging ofthe Friends | |||||
| and the Class Representatives has already paid |
| dividends and we are looking at a very healthy |
| outlook for the coming months. We also | |||||
| supported the school with Numicon, plastic |
| orchestral instruments and stargazing |
| telesco es. |
