REVIEW OF THE YEAR:

The income for the year (excluding receipts from sale of assets) was £42,675 (2024: £43,593). Expenditure (excluding purchases of assets) was £45,119 (2024: £48,719). Sales of investments in the year generated £337,712 and purchases of investments totalled £324,593. This results in a net increase in reserves of £10,675.

OBJECTIVES AND ORGANISATION:

The object of the Charity, in accordance with the Trust Deed dated 22nd November 1978 is the education of persons who have not attained the age of 25 years, who, in the opinion of the Trustees, are in need of financial assistance and who are resident in, or have parent(s) resident in, the parish of Bobbington, the parish of Enville or the parish of Kinver, but preference for those who are resident in, or who have parent(s) resident in Enville.

FINANCIAL POSITION:

The Trustees consider that the overall financial position is satisfactory and are pleased to report 22 donations to individuals were made during the year.

PUBLIC BENEFIT:

The Trustees of the Charity are aware of the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit and have had regard to it in the administration and activities of the Charity.

POLICIES:

The investments of the trust have been selected to provide a balance between growth and income as recommended by the investment advisers.

The income reserves of the charity are reviewed regularly and are maintained to retain a level of funds available for urgent calls upon them and for identifiable future projects.

1 ACCOUNTING POLICIES

a) Basis of Accounting

The financial statements comprise a receipts and payments account together with a statement of assets and liabilities in accordance with section 133 of the Charities Act 2011.

b) Funds of the charity

Funds are donations and other incoming resources receivable or generated for the objects of the charity without further specified purpose and are available as general funds for use at the discretion of the Trustees.

I report on the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31st March 2025, which are set out on pages 3 to 8.

Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner:

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act), and that an independent examination is needed.

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the financial statements presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items of disclosures in the financial statements, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the financial statements present a 'true and fair' view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
