THE TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDING 31.03.2025 FOR THE STOKE ON TRENT MUSLIM WELFARE AND COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION (Equality House) 77-79 RAYMOND STREET, HANLEY, STOKE ON TRENT The constitution of the charity was adopted on 18th February 1979 and amended on 26th | December 1993. OBJECTIVES OF THE CHARITY

A. To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Stoke on Trent and Newcastle and Neighbourhood (hereinafter called the area of benefit) without distinction of sex or religion or political or other opinion by associating the local authorities voluntary organizations and inhabitants in common effort to advance education and provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for the recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. B. To manage or to cooperate with any local authority in the maintenance and management of a centre and its constituent bodies in the furtherance of the above objectives. C. The trust shall be non-party in politics and non-sectarian in religion. The trust shall have power to affiliate to other organizations with similar charitable objectives. The trust shall share facilities at City Central Mosque and maintain close links with the management committee of City Central Mosque (Islamic Centre). The charity is managed by the executive committee which consists of four holding trustees and six to ten charity trustees elected every five years by AGM. The present Committee was elected/ formed on 9th December 2018. The committee meets on the first Sunday of every month to transact the business of the charity. The Raymond Street property acquired in the name of the Association has been partly let on commercial lease and the main hall has been retained for the use of the communities for religious, social, cultural gatherings. In year 2021-2022 different people used the centre for the followings:

  1. GIRLS’ QURANIC CLASSES: MONDAY TO FRIDAY 4:30-7:30 PM

  2. LADIES MEHFIL: EVERY WEDNESDAY 9-12 PM

;, 3. LADIES QURANIC CLASSES: EVERY TUESDAY, 9-12. 4. MEETINGS: PAKISTAN DAY, GIRLS MILAD PARTY. 5. EVERY SATURDAY 11.30-2.30 PM: SPLAT youth club. 6. WEEKENDS: USED FOR MEHNDIS, NIKAHS, BIRTHDAY PARTIES, AQEEQAH, LADIES’ MILAAD, EID PARTIES, CHARITIES FUND RAISING, SANGEET NIGHT, MUSICAL EVENTS ETC. 7. OTHER COMMUNITIES: ALSO USE HALL, SUMUD PALESTINE, ARAB LADIES EID PARTIES, TURKISH, MIRPUR WELFARE FUND’S EID PARTY, AFTARIES, SUDANESE, YEMEN ladies AND KASHMIRI’S. 8. ALSO USED FOR FUNERAL SITTINGS AND KHATIMS.
