Objectives and Activities

Para 1.17 and 1.19	Regular religious discourses with devotional singing, celebration of religious festivals, varied community and cultural activities such as sports, Karate, Yoga, dance activities to cater for all the age groups. .Organised day trips, communal meals, sessions on fire safety, home and personal security by inviting Police and Fire Brigade personnel. Letting public use Hall, kitchen, tables, chairs, pots and pans facilities for them to hold birthdays, weddings and funeral events. Representation of Geeta Bhawan on other statuary bodies such as Equality Action, Loughborough Council of Faiths etc.
Statement confirming whether the trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit	Para 1.18	The trustees have always conformed to the guidelines issued by the Charity Commission and to that end have always attended the monthly meetings of the Geeta Bhawan Committee. They have always ensured that all the activities are for the public benefit and are within the framework of the constitution of Geeta Bhawan.

Para 1.20	Geeta Bhawan was established in 1976 to cater for the religious, cultural, social and educational needs of the Hindu Punjabi community and it has successfully met all its objectives. Geeta Bhawan provides a focal point for the community to meet and share its highs and lows. Sports activities for the youth, meeting sessions for the retired and the Ladies are beneficial for the mental and physical health of our members and the wider society. Lately, Geeta Bhawan has created its own website for outreaching to wider community.
