BRIDGEND MALE CHOIR TRUSTEES REPORT FOR FINANCIAL YEAR ENDING
SEPTEMBER 2022
Bridgend Male Choir is a registered charity established in 1960 whose aims are to promote choral singing and to perform charitable performances to aid other charities in their fund raising adventures. To these aims the choir perform music ranging from religious, classical, songs from musical theatre and contemporary.
Due to government COVID restrictions in place at beginning of reporting period events were curtailed but limited rehearsals took place as per those restrictions and safety measures.
When restrictions were lifted events that took place were at the Armistice Day Remembrance Service at Cenotaph Bridgend. Promotional performance at McArthur Glen Shopping Village, Concert in aid of Parkinsons UK in April, joint concert with Hereford Police Choir in aid of their designated charity in June, Bridgend Food festival in June, Brass and Voices Prom at St David’s Hall Cardiff July. The choir also performed at the annual Elvis Festival in Porthcawl and was featured on BBC Radio Wales. The Choir also performed at weddings in Whitchurch, Pontcanna Cardiff, Nolton Church Bridgend and Llantwit Major.
Social events were held when permitted and included a 60[th] Anniversary dinner (postponed due to COVID) Annual Luncheon, Octoberfest and Annual Christmas Dinner.
All these events enabled the Choir to operate on a sound financial footing with a bank balance to carry forward to the next financial year.
