		The mission ofthe WCHCT ista preserve
		churches, chapels and places ofworship. Our
Summary of'the main achievements ofthe charity, identifying the difference the charity's work has made to the rircUmstances ofits	Para 3.20	Trust provides grants for works of repair and maintenance in Warwickshire and Coventry. Churches ancf places ofwarship are an essential part ofour historic and architectural heritage which needs to be preserved for future
beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.		generations. They are part ofour cultura] heritage too, having been continuously used for centuries and still in use for their original
		purposes. Many churches in Warwickshire are
		Grade I, Ij~ and ll listed. Churchgoing has
		dwindled hugely since the end ofthe 19th
		century and sothere ls only a small church
		community left. lt is only a tiny percentage of
		the population bot is responsible for the care of
		these valuable historic buildings which form a
		high percentage ofour county's oldest and finest
		architecture. These buildings are central to
		cornrnunity heritage and history arid are part of
		everyone's history whether or not they are they
		are churchgoers.
		Over the last 5years the trust has paid oUt
		over 234k in grants and the sharing of
		sponsorship money with nominated
