## **TRUSTEE’S ANNUAL REPORT 2024** 

Horncastle and District Community Association (508317) is the Charity responsible for operating Horncastle Community Centre, for the benefit of all persons in this area. At our AGM on 22/09/25 the Chairman and Secretary of the Managing Trustees were re-elected, and the Vice chairman resigned. The Trustee post of Treasurer was not dealt with, but the matter was corrected after the AGM and there is no change of person in this role. A new Vice chairman was elected at the meeting and is now registered with the Charity Commission. 

In 2024 the Community Centre accounts showed a small trading profit (£2,533). Making allowance for unspent grant monies, the reserves held in our deposit accounts have increased (£24,550). Some of this may be needed for improvements to The Old School House. 

In 2024 hiring income improved by £2,000, perhaps to some extent due to our economical rates for hiring. As a community focussed venue, we believe it important to keep our hiring fees unchanged as long as possible, despite many increasing costs. 

We have gratefully received funding from ELDC, the Lottery, M and E Cornish, the Cooperative Store and the Jobson Trust, so were able to proceed with items of major expenditure. This included a hearing loop and new floor in Main Hall, new water boiler and heating improvements. Plus, we began work on replacing more windows in Small Hall and Corridor. We have continued to improve the content on our Website. 

We look forward to continuing to serve the local Community in 2025.
