Trustees Annual Report for the year ended 29[th] February 2024
MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE YEAR
As per the Whitley Bay and District Scout Council Year Book 2023-2024
At the end of the year income reserves amounted to £106,496
The Financial Statement format for previous years was the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) as determined by the Financial Reporting Standards. The Trustees have taken the view that due to the size of the Charity this level of reporting was not required and have for the current year and going forward adopted the Income and Expenditure format as determined by the Charities Commission.
RESERVES POLICY
The Trustees have reviewed the Charity Commission requirements regarding a Reserve Policy. The Trustees have determined in the review to have a policy that covers 12 months of the Charity's running costs for it's Headquarters. The Reserve Policy has been reduced from £15,000 to £7,800. The Trustees will continue to monitor on an annual basis the level of financial cover required to meet the annual running costs.
The objectives of the District are the continuation of efficient scouting activities within the local area.
The District is a trust established under its rules, which are common to all Scout Districts.
Trustees are appointed in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules of The Scout Association.
Approved by the Trustees on 18[th] April 2024 and signed on their behalf by
