Dudley Zoo Development Trust Trustee's Report for the year ended 31st December 2025 The Trustee presents its report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 st December 2025. Trustees Dudley and Wesl Midlands Zoological Society Limited is the sole trustee of the Trust and is repsented by the ft)Ilowing Society board members. Peter Silver Michael Evans The trust was set by trust deed dated 18th Augus11978 and is registered with the Charity Commission number 507973. The charity's address is Castle Hill, Dudley, Wesl Midlands, DY14QF. Objects, Oryanisations and Activities The Charity was established lo assist with the development of Dudley Zoo and to assist with the feeding of the animals. Revlew of the year The trust's income has decreased from the previous year to £59,67312024'. £308.3141. In 2025 the income has benefitted from a legacy lotalling £21,381. A large legacy of £263.000 was reiVed in 2024. The trustees made the decision in 2025 to transfer £263,000 to the Society lo assist in the construction of the Painted Dog enclosure. In 2025 the trust continued to assist Dudley Zoological Society with grants and donations of £38,29212024'. £44,038). In 2025 £263,000 was donated to Dudley Zoological Society lo assist with the development of an animal enclosure. In 2024 no amounts were donated lo Dudley Zoological Society to assist in the site development of the zoo. Finances The attached financial statements show the current slate of the finances of the trust which the trustees consider to be sound. Public beneflt The Trust provides support for the Dudley & West Midlands Zoological Society with fvnding which enables practical assistan lo the charitable aims of the Society. Reserves The policy of the Trust is to relain sufficient funds lo maintain the trust as a going concem. The Trust will provide donations to the Zoo in accordance with its objectives and will hold minimum reserves as a result. Trustee's responsibilities The trustee is responsible for preparing the Trustee's Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards {Uniled Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice). The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepar8 financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the stale of affairs of the charity and of the incoming SOurCeS and application of iesources of the charity for that period. In preparing these financial slatemenls, the trustees are required to.. select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently.. observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP.. make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.. slate whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial slalemenls.. prepare the financial slalemenls on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business.

They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hen taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detectson of fraud and other irregularities. Respective responsibilities of trustees and examlner The charity's trustee is responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's Iruslee ¢onsiders that an audit is not required for this year under section 144121 of the Charities Act 2011 Ilhe 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
