Review of Developments l Activities and Achievements of the Trust The maln focus of the year was raising funds for the Restoratwi of the Noth and East faces of the church, with Phase 1 of the project now underway. The focus is now on Phase 2. An appeal to raise the funds needed for Phase 2 was launch in August 2024. During this year Trustees have met on fo&r occasions. NANTWICH PARISH CHURCH PRESERVATION APPEAL TRUST INDEPENDENT EXAMINERS REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF NANTWICH PARISH CHURCH PRESERVATION APPEAL TRUST I report on the accounts of the Trust (Registered Charity No. 507911) for the year ended 30 September 2024. which are set out on pages 5 to 7. Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner The Gharity's trustees are responsible for Ihe preparation of the accounts. The charty's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 ('Ihe Charities Act") and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibilty to.. examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act, to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5>(b) of the Charities Act, and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent examiner's statement My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charty Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kepl by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as lo whether the accounts present a 'lrue and fair" view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. Independent examiner's statement In connection th my examination, no matter has come to my attention 1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the requirements.. to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act" and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply wth the accounting requirements of the Charities Act have not been met; or 2, to which , in my opinion, attentton should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. NANTWICH PARISH CHURCH PRESERVATION APPEAL TRUST NOTES TO THE ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 SEPTEMBER 2024 Accounting Policies Accounting Convention The financial statements are generally prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the Charities SORP {FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2015). Donations, gifts and other income Donations, gifts and other income are credited as income in the year in which they are receivable. Legacies Legacies are credited as income in the year that they are receivable, Grants receivable Grants receivable a re credited as income in the year in which they are receivable. They are payable in line with related expenditure of the trust. Charitable expenditure Direct charitable expenditure includes all expendtture incurred on restoration work and fees. 2. Inveslment Income Relates to bank interest re¢eived on the various accounts held by the charity together with £2,345 interest (£1 ,625 in 2022123) from the Lyon Restoration Fund, which is held in the accounts of the Parochial Church Council of St Marvs Parish Church, Nathich.
