## **01/4/2024 – 31/3/2025** 

- Hepple Village Hall, Hepple, Morpeth, Northumberland. NE65 7LH. We are based in a small rural farming community. Our trustees are all local people who are passionate about maintaining our Village Hall which is an important hub of the village, providing a space for socializing and activities. 

- During the above dates we had 7 trustees as follows;- Christine Wilson (chair& treasurer), Charlotte Boxall (vice chair), Carole Bell (Secretary), Stewart Whitfield, Jack Hasson, Michael Bell, Annette Liechti (aka Evans). At our AGM on 28[th] May 2025 Jack Hasson and Annette Liechti (aka Evans) resigned and were replaced by Jennifer Bates and Steven Kerry. 

- The building was built around 1872 as a school and the school closed in 1969. The building has been modernised and used as a village hall since then. However the toilet facilities were very basic with difficult access. The ladies toilet was housed in a cold timber clad lean to extension accessed by a narrow passageway, not wide enough for wheelchair access. The gents toilet was in a stone outbuilding reached by going outside across the yard, which was part of the original toilet for the school. Feedback from the community was that the toilets were cold and inadequate. 

- Our main objective for the year after securing funding from various sources and £40,000 from The National Lottery to build an extension on the side of the building with 2 new accessible toilets, and a much needed room for storage. The trustees felt the hall required accessible toilet facilities that comply with current standards. This would provide comfort, convenience and a warm and more inviting space for the benefit of the community. 

- We have regular hirers of the hall providing varied activities for the community and by improving the facilities the number of hirers will increase for private functions and events. 

- We managed to complete the extension project within budget of £76,800. There will be £3,750 expenditure to show in the 2025/26 annual return as this was paid out after our 2025 year end. The current account is in a healthy position of £14,573 to cover our everyday expenses. The income from our regular hirers will support our running costs. We are holding £15,054 in our reserves to cover any unexpected emergencies.
