Section C Objectives and activities
Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document
The objects of the charity are to apply both capital and income to or for the relief of the poor and needy or to or for such other charitable purpose, institution, society or objects as the club shall in duly constituted meeting from time to time direct.
The Charity receives donations from the members of the Rotary Club of Leicester. This money is raised through regular giving, collections at club meetings and one off donations.

Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
The Club raised a surplus over £57,000 during the year for distribution. Approximately £56,000 was given out. The main beneficiaries were the Rotary Foundation, End Polio Now, Ukraine Orphans Appeal (via the Rotary Club of Lodz, Poland), Ectodermal Dysplasia Society, Sapper Support, Rainbows Hospice, LOROS and STEPS Special School.
During the last year the Club has continued to provide Christmas hampers and Easter eggs to families in Leicestershire via several foodbanks.
Major fundraising through members and associates of the Club raised over £16,000 to support Ukrainian children in Poland. A Memorandum of Understanding was established with the Rotary Club of Lodz and the money raised was channelled through them to support the Ukrainian children who had fled the Ukraine to live in Poland.
The Music in the Park festival was organised by the Club for the first time in 2022. A surplus of £11,700 was split between 3 local charities.
The Club is organising the 2023 Disability Games within District 1070 and received funds from District (ca, £2,900) to support this event.
Donation to End Polio Now were higher than usual with contributions from a non member Once again the Club funded a handicapped person to attend the Calvert Trust outward bound centre, and donations were made to a further 11 local charities and 4 overseas ones.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/05/2023 .
Responsibilities and As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the basis of report accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have examiner's statement come to my attention in connection with the which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or

the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
