Trustees Annual Report for Y/e 31/3/22

Charity Belper Musical Theatre

Reg No 506565

Address 26 Wren Park Close, Belper, Derbys,DE56TN

Trustees Andrew Winning (Treasurer) and Sarah Stone (Chairperson)

  1. The charity is a Musical Theatre group and its activities are managed by an elected committee. Trustees are members of the committee appointed at the Coys AGM held annually.

  2. The principal activities are the production and performance of shows and concerts as well as staging some charity concerts to support other organisations.

  3. In the y/e 31/3/22 beause of Covid the coy staged only the main show in Feb 22 and other activity was severely limited Normally other concerts would have taken place free of charge. The coy provides high quality musical performances to the general public of Belper and surrounding areas much to the benefit of the public who would otherwise have limited local opportunities to see live performance

  4. The coy has no debts with a sizeable bank balance but the finances are closely moitored and although no formal reserves exist the current bank balance is more than adequate to cover current expenditure and indeed foreseeable situations in future. Steps arwere put in in place to maintain the coys funds during the aftermath of Covid 19 pandemic although it has not been possible to stage any productions until Feb 2022. Members of the coy have continued to pay their monthly subscriptions to maintain the coy for future activities.

  5. No funds are held by the coy as a custodian trustee .

Audit Report for Belper Musical Theatre Y/e 31/3/22

The accounts for this year were prepared on the same basis as previously the objective being to identify the overall movement of funds to ensure that bank balances are largely maintained. The organisation is non-commercial.

In this year because of the lasting effects of Covid no Sept concert took place and activity was therefore restricted to General income and expenditure and the main show in Feb 2022 (Shrek).

All Income and Expenditure passes through the coys bank account and is identified by paying in books identifying the income and likewise c/q counterfoils identifying expenditure. Documentation further supports expenditure. All payments by c/q require two signatures.

Some cash income arises from Front of House sales but these are reconciled by the FOH manager and Treasurer. The majority of c/q receipts are now by card reader and virtually all Ticket sales are now covered by on-line TicketSource connected to the website which automatically records income and ticket sales.

Overall the finances of the coy are measured and controlled on a very tight basis and they represent a true and accurate of the coys finances
