Independent examiner's report to the trustees of Tarvin Community Centre I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31 March 2026. The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees Consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 201 l Act) and that an independent examination is needed. My examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view. and the report is limited to those matters set out in the next statement. In connection with rny examination, no matter h&s come to my attention: ( l )which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements to keep proper accounting records and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements have not been met. or (2)to which, in my Opinio attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper undeTStanding of the accounts to be reached Name: Relevant professional qualification or body: s.-rtCMA Address: Date: 2f/ts I102ts

|---|---|---|
| Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document |
Para 1.17 | The provision and maintenance of a community centre for the use of the inhabitants of the Parish of Tarvin without distinction of political, religious or other opinions, including use for meetings, lectures and classes, and for other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants |
| Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts. |
Para 1.17 and 1.19 |
The Committee of Management has continued to provide and maintain Tarvin Community Centre in accordance with the objects of the charity. The Centre continued to host Tarvin Library and meetings of Tarvin Parish Council. Continuing activities for all or part of the year included Zumba and Zumba Gold, Dance Movers, Rugbytots, children’s ballet/dance classes, yoga, Pilates, table tennis, Sound Bath and flower arranging, literature and art classes. The Gardening Society and Flower Club continued to meet at the Centre, as did bingo, Tumbletots, the WI and the parent and toddlers group (although the latter sadly folded during the year). A choir for older people met regularly and there was a spiritual and wellbeing class and self-defence sessions, as well as children’s theatre arts sessions during school holidays. Films were shown regularly under the auspices of Arts Alive’s “Flicks in the Sticks”. There were several theatre productions (either by Ashton Hayes Theatre Group or under the Cheshire Rural Touring Arts umbrella), as well as private parties, charity events and other ad hoc bookings |
| Statement confirming whether the trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity |
Para 1.18 | In setting its hiring fees the Committee has had regard to the guidance on public benefit and has set its fees at a level which are affordable, with a scale of charges |
| Commission on public benefit |
which favours village organisations who pay the lowest rate; outside organisations pay a slightly higher rate and businesses a higher rate again. Lettings to businesses, local government and other public bodies were welcomed but village organisations continued to have priority. The Committee agreed to increase its hiring fees by 2.5% in line with inflation with effect from 1 April. Lettings income was sufficient to cover the unavoidable running costs of the centre. |
