St. Mary & St. Margarets C.E. Primary School Parent Teacher Association

Report of the Trustees for year ending 28th September 2023

The Trustees of the St. Mary & St. Margarets C.E. Primary School Parent Teacher Association present their Annual Report and audited accounts for the year ended 28tht September 2023

Our Aims

To advance the education of the pupils at the school by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the school not normally provided by the Local Education Authority.

Activities and objectives.

After another successful year where the current projects of the school playground and library have been completed. The academic year starts without a current live project. During the A.G.M. the chair asked what the needs of the school will be for the forthcoming academic year. It was suggested that with an Ofsted inspection due it would be best to access needs post the inspection report.

The Trustees and Members during the quarterly meetings set approximate dates and organised the forthcoming fundraising events: -

Christmas Fayre, raffles, sponsored learning challenges and School Discos. Now the need to socially distance is behind us, all events will be happening on school premises again. We would hope to be approaching Charitable Trusts and Foundations once the requirements of the school have been identified.

Review of activities and objective.

A raffle, discos and Christmas Fayre went ahead and were successful. In addition to that, applying for grants and charitable donations has brought in the bulk of income this year. The PTA’s fund raising has meant the current project have been completed. The playground project saw the final stage of re marking the playground and the complete refurbishment of the school library including the re stocking of reading materials. This has already caused much excitement around the school and an upturn in the student’s engagement with reading. A grand opening was attended by the student’s, representatives from the PTA and a local author.

Organisational Management.

Trustees were nominated and voted for at the A.G.M and are as below for this financial year. All trustees were re-elected with no changes from the previous year.

Lisa Freeman (Chair).

Kelly Ann Williams (Deputy Chair.)

Ian Skelcher (Treasurer).

Samantha Ellen Hall.
