By means of a conveyance of 24 November 1925, various land holdings
collectively referred to as the Manor, were transferred to Middleham
Town Council.

The income derives solely from rental of land it owns. This comprises
moor land used for racehorse training, grazing land and part of the
'Town Wastes,.
Expenditure has, in recent years, been on land maintenance (grass
cutting, hedge cutting, and maintenance of cobbled market area)
within the town and events held for the benefit of the Inhabitants of
Middleham. The Charity will also consider funding requests that are
consistent with the charity's objectives.
The Town Clerk advises the Trustee on its responsibilities to have regard
to the charitable and public benefits when making decisions.

The Reserves Policy adopted on 27 March 2019 notes guidance from the
Charity Commission, as follows..
Differentiate between Capital and Revenue reserves.,
Hold 12 months operating expenditure as a general reserve;
Transfer to the general reserve any unspent balances of expenditure
on items for which invoices have not been received at the year-end.
Fully provide for earmarked reserves, as identified by the Trustee;
Review the Reserves at eve

The Charity income is currently from land rentallroom hire and
donations including parking donations. It does not actively fundraise
but may consider funding opportunities for specific projects.
The charity does not currently have an investment policy or ethical

Expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity by
funding maintenance of land that the Charity owns, the maintenance
of the Community building which it is tenant of and supporting
community events which take place in Middleham for the residents.
