Promoting the education (including social and physical training) of persons under the age of 25 years who are resident in the area comprising the Parishes of Stamfordham, Belsay, Capheaton and Matfen or who have a parent or parents so resident or who have at any time attended as a pupil at a school in Stamfordham or Belsay and who are in need of financial assistance;
Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document
by awarding scholarships, bursaries, or grants tenable at any school, university, college of education, or other institution of further (including professional and technical) education approved for the purpose by the Trustees;
and/or by providing financial assistance, outfits, clothing, tools, instruments or books to assist them to pursue their education (including the study of music and other arts), to undertake travel in furtherance thereof, or to prepare for entering employment on leaving education;
and/or by providing equipment and other items, services and facilities to advance education in Stamfordham or Belsay Schools.

Section D Achievements and erformance p
The Trustees were able to help young people by providing grants to 17 Summary of the main individual learners (up from 10 last year), the summer scheme, the achievements of the charity brownies and to the two Primary Schools in Stamfordham and Belsay. during the year Stamfordham school were able to update their whole suite of i-pads in school and purchase new coding equipment enabling an outstanding computing curriculum; also giving pupils the opportunity to attend computer-based extra-curricular clubs. Older pupils have taken on the role of digital leaders and the school is now able to equip the pupils with the IT skills they need for high school and beyond Belsay School reported that the Trust’s donation made a significant difference to our Early Years provision, helping them create a more enriching and welcoming environment for their youngest learners. At Chapel farm the tenant had begun some repairs (initially window replacement). An agent has been appointed to discuss with the tenant the future of the tenancy into the next generation, proposed diversification away from pure agriculture and rent increase to reflect this. A programme of planned maintenance on Widdrington House, continues currently addressing window and door timber rot. The conducting of all trust business electronically including banking and communication, continues to work well. The online application form replacing handwritten requests seems to be encouraging a new generation to engage with the Trust. Cheques have been completely phased out with secure online methods replacing them. Independent examination of the accounts was again kindly donated this year. Continued property management work by the trustees avoiding agents fees, has kept the financial position very stable, whilst allowing good progress again to be made on long standing maintenance issues. A fruitful negotiation with Northumbrian water for use of trust land as a compound has added a significant sum to the building fund. This will be applied to future road maintenance at Chapel farm.
Reaching out to learners who need help remains a key goal with adverts placed Stamfordham Communicator, and direct approaches again made to the two primary schools along with village notices. Parents are now sent the Trust poster attached to school newsletters. Trustees have also made direct approaches to the staff at the high school to ensure awareness amongst secondary pupils and school leavers.

The trust deed prescribes that a building fund be maintained to allow for planned maintenance and repairs of trust properties. Condition surveys have raised the expectation that the trustees will need to continue to spend significant sums on the fabric of the buildings. This fund stands at £47,200 leaving £38,161 to be applied to the future objectives of the charity.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 / 12 / 2024 .
Responsibilities and basis As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the of report accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have statement come to my attention in connection with the examination (other than that disclosed below *) which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
