Treasurer’s Report     Southport Bach Choir 1/8/23-31/7/24 

## Dear Members, 

I hope that you have all had a chance to look at the accounts, which were sent out with the notice of the AGM. The closing balance was £10,408.24, which was £2,106.24 less than at the start of the year. Gift aid repayment, which was £1,015 in the previous year’s accounts, has been applied for but has not yet been received. Can I take this opportunity to ask members to contact me if they have not signed up for gift aid, or if their eligibility to receive gift aid has changed? 

Our Leipzig trip was almost cost neutral, with the fee received (£1,657) being only £6.78 less than our expenses. 

Looking at the analysis of our events, Come and Sing made a surplus of £428, the Quiz night made £600, and the Summer Concert had a shortfall of £2,582. Orchestras, Soloists and Organ hire are expensive, which can however be mitigated by healthy ticket sales. 

Thank you for supporting the various fundraising events and activities – the rehearsal teas and coffees, the Wine raffle, the Bonus ball, Come and Sing, the Concert raffles and the Concert ticket sales. These activities are so important in helping with our costs, and I thank all those who do so much to make these successful. 

Membership subscription of £100 for the year is due by the end of October, preferably by BACS payment to Southport Bach Choir 20-80-33 33098567 please. Payment can alternatively be made by instalments of £40 now, £30 on January 1[st] and £30 on April 1[st] . When making payments, please state what the payment is for, whether for subscription, tickets, Come and Sing etc.
