**The Church Constitution states that its primary objective is to proclaim the Christian message to the residents of Whitby and the surrounding area and to provide a place of worship for those who wish to join with them.**

**Worship services are held each Sunday (Morning & Evening) for the Church Members and the local public. A weekly Bible Study and Prayer Meeting is held at the church to which all are invited. Meetings for various groups are held at the church during the week to support the local community including: Mums and Tots Groups, Ladies Meetings, youth groups**

**Apart from the Pastor, all church work is carried out by volunteers from within our own congregation.** 

**A trainee pastor is working in the church and studying via a correspondence course with a view to becoming a Church Pastor in the future. He is being mentored and given practical experience by the Pastor of the church/ local retired elder.**

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

**Baptismal services were held on 27th March and 21st August. When two people were baptised. For the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee the church was opened to visitors on 3rd & 4th June. Refreshments were be served in the foyer and Jubilee tracts and Gideon Jubilee Testaments were offered to folk who visit and those passing by in Skinner St. During August we had open air services on the West Cliff.**

**The Church Policy on reserves is to keep these as low as possible Brief statement of the and to disburse any substantial reserves by supporting other charity’s policy on reserves charities, particularly those involved with Overseas Missionary work. A small reserve is kept as a contingency to ease cash flow problems should emergency funding be needed.**

ended 31 December 2022 which are attached to thi5 report.

As the charty tru5tee5 of the Church you are responsible for the preparation ofthe accounts In
accordance with the requiTement5 of the Charities Act 20111.the ACYI.
I report in respert of my examination of the Trusvs account5 carried out under section 145 01 the
2011 Act anQ in carrying out my examlnation I have followed all the appllcable Dirertlons given by
the Charlty Comrnlsslon under settion 14515llbl of the Act.
An Examlnation include5 a review of the accounting reco¥ds kept by the charity and a cornparison of
the accounts presented with those records. It a150 Include5 consideration of any unusual items or
disc105ures in the accounts and seeking explanations frorn the trustees Con￿rnIng any such matters.
The protedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in a full audit,
and consequently I do not expre55 an audit opinion on the accounts.
