Objectives and activities
Ampleforth Village Hall provides facilities for all inhabitants of Ampleforth and
surrounding areas regardless of sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, nationality,
race, religion or political affiliation. The aim is lo improve the quality of life of all the
village's inhabitants, including the young, the old and people with disabilities
Structure, governance and management
The charity is operated under the rules of a conveyance of Trust, dated November
1975, which governs re*lection of trustees, govemance of the hall including
financial reporting.
Trustee recruitment and appointment
Trustees are elected at the annual general meeting which is usually held at the
end of May or June each year. All existing trustees must resign, and elections
carried out to elect or re-elect committee members. The aim is to have members
of user groups on the committee as well as a member of the local parish council.
Achievements and performance
The village hall provides a library and jigsaw lending service to inhabitants
Weekly coffee mornings where people can socialise.
A chair exercise class as well as Yoga and Pilates classes now take place.
Local gardening club, historical society, the youth church
Winter warm spaces providing a bit of warmth and a square meal during
winter months once a week.
Play group for toddlers (New group for 2025)
Craft sessions for senior members of the community.
Parish council meetings
Polling station.
Christening events, wedding receptions. parties, and funeral wakes.
Courses i.e. first aid, mindfulness
Hall hire alone does not supply sufficient funds and special fund-raising events
such as concerts, fairs and pantomimes which benefit the local community and
raise revenue. These have enjoyed great success.

Funding strategy
Events will continue to supplement hall revenue, and any hall improvements will
be funded by grants and money provided by events
Financial posltion as of 31 March 2025
The accounts show a paper loss of £20.306 for the year 2024-2025. This was
expected as grants received during the 2023-2024 financial year were retained
and spent in the 2024-5 financial year. These improvements included new toilets,
repairs to the roof, roof insulation and new guttering. Exduding these improvement
costs, the hall made a small surplus of about £1,500. A grant of £19,997 towards a
replacement, greener heating system was returned in full to North Yorkshire
Council as the Trustees decided the proposed heating system did not fully cover
the hall's requirements.
Future plans
Existing hall uses will be maintained to benefit the community. Efforts will be made
to grow the facilities the hall provides to gain additional user groups. The Village
Hall will work alongside the Ampleforth and district gardening dub to put on a
village show in September
The hall requires new seating as existing seating is coming to the end of its useful
life. This was planned last year but delayed due to other activities. The building will
require internal redecorating in the next two years. New heating is required in the
toilets
Statement of the charity's policy on reserves
Current reserves stand at £23,121. The Trustees aim to retain a minimum financial
reserve of £15,000 to cover any unforeseen costs. £5000 will continue to be set
aside towards new seating for the hall. £1000 will be put in reserve for new
heating in the bathroom. A further £2500 will be set aside for decorating and repair
of damage to the hall floor resulting from a leak

Declaration
The trustees declare that they have approved the trustees. report.
Signed on behalf of the charity's trustees..
