## **WORCESTERSHIRE CANCER AID COMMITTEE Charity number 504647** ## **ANNUAL REPORT – YEAR ENDING 30th SEPT. 2024** Worcestershire Cancer Aid has seven trustees giving grants to help cancer patients in need throughout Worcestershire. Grants to cancer patients may be provided for special equipment or facilities, hospital visiting costs, additional domestic costs etc. Patients must be referred by medical professionals, hospice senior staff or social workers etc. 2023/204 has been a very busy year, with our fund- raising boosted by many donations from local businesses and individuals. We also benefitted from a large bequest from the Will of a lady who lived in Upton and regularly supported our Cancer Shop. In these difficult times our grants remain of great importance to our clients, and we are also being asked for help by some of the much larger charities as they reduce the level of grants that they give. Our own Committee have been busy holding Tea Parties, Quiz Nights, Disco’s and Skittles Evenings. Our Charity Shop regrettably had to close during the year after some 16 years in the London Lane premises. Brenda Till, our Secretary, has remained a steadfast member. Her work as Secretary, dealing with the many requests for financial assistance on behalf of our cancer patients, has been an almost daily task which is very much appreciated. I also thank all the committee members for their support and assistance during the year and I look forward to another financially successful year in 2024/2025..
