## **TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT THE YEAR ENDED 30 APRIL 2025** 

## **Introduction** 

The Hickling Village Hall is a registered charitable trust. 

## **Trustees** 

The Trustees during the year and at the year-end were: 

Mrs Elizabeth Vear Mr John Robinson Mr Roger Stanley Dr Timothy McEwen Mrs Philippa Jacks Mrs Pauline Chell Mr Alan Thomas Mrs Barbara McEwen Mr Charles Winfield 

All Trustees were appointed under the terms of the Trust Deed. 

## **Aims and Purpose** 

To provide suitable premises for the purpose of a village hall for use of the inhabitants of the parish of Hickling, without distinction of political, religious or other opinions. 

## **Objective and Activities** 

The Trustees are committed to provide a Village hall which is used regularly by village organisations and others, that has the equipment and facilities to provide a conducive environment for the various activities of the organisations and to also ensure that the fabric of the building is maintained in good order and improved when funds allow. 

## **Achievements and Performance** 

Once again, during the year work has been executed on the Village Hall with an additional extractor fan in the kitchen, replacing 28 no. failed double glazing units in the windows and repainting the external woodwork and bell tower. 

## **Financial Review** 

Total receipts for the year were £31,950. The total expenditure in the year was £21,643. Included in the Hall Maintenance figure of £12,024 were replacement double glazed units of £4,097, electrical work totalling £1,353.00 and external painting including scaffolding of £2,696. 

## **Volunteers** 

A thank you to all the volunteers who help with the running of the hall. 

## **Structure, Governance & Management** 

The Trustees are representatives from the Village organisations and people who are proposed and elected by those present at the Annual General Meetings.

## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINERS REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 APRIL 2025** 

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 30 April 2025 which are set out on pages four and five. 

## **Responsibilities and basis of report** 

As the charity’s trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act') 

I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## **Independent examiner’s statement** 

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 

- 1 accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or 

- 2 the accounts do not accord with those records 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
