ECMAT Chairmans Report 2023
We had a very good and stable year in 2023. Growing our income by 179% from £63,058 in 2022 to £175,880 during this financial year.
We continued to support the wonderful work of National Day of Prayer and Worship and the development of Faith Lift and raised finance for the purchase of two plots of land in Uganda: the smaller plot for Glorious Christian Church in Lugazi, East of Kampala (doubling the size of their land) and around half an acre of land for King Jesus Palace, north of the main city.
National Day of Prayer and Worship developed a project during 2023 called Shine Your Light, encouraging Christians to reach out into their communities during the Christmas periods. Hundreds of Churches, including their denominations, and hundreds of thousands of Christians did just that. NDOPW continues to run its Easter and Pentecost campaigns, which we well supported.
We also helped resolve debt issues that National Day of Prayer and Worship had in the past and are pleased to report that ECMAT and NDOPW have no debt. This will allow National Day of Prayer and Worship to run its own affairs in the coming two years. ECMAT has acted as a charity to facilitate the debt repayments and give some solid governance guidance.
NDOPW has been active in over 100 Church or Network meetings throughout the year, as well as regular media interviews on several BBC local radio stations, Premier Christian Radio, UCB 1 & UCB 2, Cross Rhythms, Revelation TV, and Trans World Radio.
Faithlift continues to develop well, with over 700 people receiving their daily encouragement by email at the time of this writing. The trust's support enabled Faith Lift to produce its first Faith Lift 365 v1 book, and it is planning to help purchase equipment in 2024 to allow the devotional material to be recorded in video format.
We are pleased with all aspects of the trust's activity during the year, during which the projects supported influenced over 1.5 million people.
Carl Brettle Chair of Trustees Evangelical Council of the Manchester Area Trust, trading as Network.
