The objects of the Trust are to pay the annual income for the benefit of the inhabitants generally of Bramhope or such persons resident in Bramhope as the Trustees, in their absolute discretion, select.

The Trustees meet a number of times a year to consider which organisations and persons within Bramhope or the surrounding area should benefit from the funds available.

Review of the Year: During the year the rents collected from the properties and investment income received enabled the Trustees to make donations totalling £31,400 to various voluntary organisations in, or associated with, Bramhope. Reserve Policy: The Trustees aim to apply the income of the charity in furtherance of the charitable object and have a policy of retaining sufficient reserves to enable the Trustees to meet obligations as they fall due which may include both planned and unforeseen expenditure on the properties.

Public Benefit Statement: In exercising their powers, the Trustees have had regard to the guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity Commission. During the year, the charity has met the public benefit requirements by providing grants and donations to churches and voluntary organisations connected with Bramhope and its residents.

Charity Governance:

The Trustees acknowledge their responsibilities to work within the principles of the Charity Governance Code 2017.

The Trustees declare that they have approved the Trustees’ Report above.

Independent Examiner’s Report

Report to the trustees of The Bramhope Trust on the accounts for the year ended 31 March 2024, which are set out on pages 5 to 6.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 March 2024.

Responsibilities and Basis of Report

As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent Examiner’s Statement

I have completed my examination, I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in any material respect:

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
