**Objects:** The Charity is established for the public benefit in the North Craven area to:(a) encourage high standards of planning and architecture and,(b) stimulate public interest in and care for the beauty, history and character of the area and,(c) encourage the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of historic or public interest.

**Activities:** Lectures, surveys and guides; drawing maps and plans; publishing a journal, books, pamphlets, papers and reports; monitoring local plans, planning applications and  legislation; guided outings; fund raising; use of donations to purchase and conserve historical documents; support for the repair of historic buildings not in private ownership, local conservation initiatives and historical research..
