CHAIR OF TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT TO THE AGM 2024 Good evening, everyone, thank you for coming to the AGM of I" Clipstone Scout Group Council. At last, this year has returned to a new normality, after the turmoil of the Pandemic, energy and financial crisis. Progress made in all areas. We have seen changes around the hall with the absence of the large tree at the front, sadly it had rotted down the centre and was in a dangerous state. It was felled and made safe just before Christmas. We have updated the emergency lights around the hall over the winter. Maintenance is something we always have to address. The Group has been more involyed within the local community this year, including Remembrance Parade again, where we marshal the route every year. The Village Scarecrow competition, the local Cabbage Club 'Giant Veg Show, which is now based at the hall. Hosting 'Broomknowe Quilters Christmas Fair,, with all proceeds to the Scout Group funds. The Race Night, held at the Welfare Hall, a new venue, which involved a wider participation from the local community. The visit from local artists, for all ages in the Group to draw and paint their ideas for a Sculpture for Vicar Water. From our members artwork and drawings, the inspiration was taken to sculpt the new 'Heritage Sculpture, placed at the top of Vicar Water hill. 80 years to mark D.DAY came with the Group taking part in the Parish Council competition to design a medal judged by the local British Legion, Charlotte came l and Jason came 2nd in their age group, each receiving individual Amazon vouchers. You will see later tonight the issue of badges that our young people have gained over the year, an increase on last year. A total of 672 over the year, of which 514 will be given out tonight. Thank you Heather, Chair of Trustee Board I" Clipstone Scout Group
