|Summary of the|Chair Report|
|main|It never rains but it pours, the latest building problem are the walls of the cleaning|
|achievements of|cupboard and the bar stockroom are both suffering from damp. This seems to be|
|the branch|accumulated rubbish between us and next door and a missing part of the guttering|
|during the year|which should have been fitted when the roof was retiled to prevent the damp walls,|
|this was done earlier this year. The club seems to be ticking over nicely. mainly due|
|to the efforts of Wayne and Kirstie. It is making a small profit but electricity and water|
|bills keep going up. The treasurer Peter Owen seems to have a constant battle firstly|
|with the electricity now with the water companies|

Treasurer Report
Managing a Grade two listed building with two residential flats is not an easy or inexpensive task. The cost of routine inspections to comply with Fire safety and other governmental Rules and regulations is high and is ever increasing. Our main achievement this year is that the Branch is still currently financially viable thanks to the hard work of the committee.
Branch Welfare Officer Report
Summary of the main We continue with our welfare care both in our Community Hub and with visits to achievements members of the RAF families. This year Sue Lawley from CHQ came to the Hub to of the branch give a talk on navigating Dementia and Alzheimer’s which was most interesting. The during the year Veterans Afternoon Tea held between 1400 and 1600 on the third Tuesday of the (cont) month is slowly getting more interest. I have visited 5 clients at their homes and successfully applied to the RAF Benevolent Fund for two of them. We have attended 6 RAF funerals with the Standard. If you know of anyone needing Welfare help, please contact me on 01283 760737 Mae Morris Caseworker and HWO.
Fundraising Report (please insert details of the Branch Fundraising activities i.e. Wings Appeal events)
It seems to more difficult to get collecting venues, and the total collected seems smaller each year, and that’s without the latest Budget. Another problem is that the ATC now needs months rather than weeks to get permission to help with collecting. A sad outcome of this was no street collections this year. Cannot ATC HQ at least realise that the BoB Saturday is known now and get a blanket clearance? Wings Collections took place at ASDA Tamworth, Morrisons at Burton, Swadlingcote and Wilnecote. In addition, we had wings fundraising event at Armed Forces Day event in Tamworth Castle grounds. We managed to raise £2961.99p this year for the Wings Appeal.
Membership Engagement Report (please insert details of the Branch Membership Engagement (newsletters, social media etc.)
The Branch have now established a Facebook Page and the number of ‘Friends’ is slowly increasing. We use the site to promote activities that are taking part at the RAFA Tamworth Branch. As a new venture we currently have 41 members on the site.
Summary of Wellbeing / Social Report (please insert details of the Branch the main Wellbeing and Social events/activities) achievements The number of events has increased this year and the main constrain is volunteers to of the branch run them. The Branch holds Bingo on a Wednesday and Friday evening each week. during the year We also run a Veterans Afternoon tea on the third Tuesday of the month. (cont) In addition to this we run occasional social events which this year included a Veterans Afternoon Tea to celebrate the 80[th] Anniversary of D-Day to which the Local military unit Commanding Officer (Defence Medical Services Whittington) Attended in support of the Branch. 29 Jun 24 - We held a very successful summer BBQ as part of our Armed Forces Day Celebrations. Commemoration Report (please insert details of the Branch Commemoration events/activities (Remembrance, Standard Bearers Attendance at Funerals etc.) The Branch organised and ran the Annual Battle of Britain Church Service and Static Parade in Tamworth. In attendance this year was the Mayor of Tamworth, Local Councillors, ATC cadets, Sea Cadets, and members of other youth organisations and the public. This event Raised £87 for the Wings Appeal. Members of the Branch attended the Remembrance events in Tamworth. The Parade Marshall for the event is a member of the RAFA Committee. The Branch sent a representative and a Standard Bearer to 6 funerals this year. Community Engagement Report (please insert details of the Branch Community Engagement activities (other groups you connect with, joint events such as Veterans Breakfasts)
The Branch has joined the ‘Support Staffordshire Organisation. This provides networking opportunities locally and guidance on possible grants and funding schemes that we as a charity may be available to us as a Branch. We support our local Royal British Legion who use our lounge area for their monthly Branch meetings.
Section E: Financial Review
Statement on Branch Expenditure (How has branch expenditure supported the key objectives of the branch)
Our key objective re: Branch expenditure at the moment is purely one of survival, following cessation of trading by the revenue-earning Flarepath Club.
Repairs and maintenance costs to keep the Branch's two flats - our main source of income - in a good, liveable condition come at considerable cost and continue to do so. Without the income from our two flats the Branch's survival would be questionable.
Statement on Branch’s Reserve Policy ( Branch Regulations stipulate that any Branch with total assets amounting to more than £5,000 should have a reserves policy and any Branch with assets over £10,000 should consider transferring excess funds across to the Branch Deposit Fund held at Association HQ. A template reserves policy can be found on the Branch Portal)
We applaud the idea of transferring excess funds to the Branch Deposit Fund, when appropriate but, at the moment we fear we would soon be requiring their return due to the cost of planned maintenance projects - plus the unplanned - currently in hand for this lovely Grade Two Listed Building.
Statement on Branch’s Investment Policy ( Please include a statement on Branch investments and holdings and how these are managed (if applicable))
Currently, financially, the Branch holds no investments or holdings.
