Activities

The main purpose of the trust is the preservation and care of exhibits donated to the museum since 1975. The museum itself is now supervised and controlled by Darlington Borough Council.

Objects: Aa) For The Benefit Of The Inhabitants Of The Town Of Darlington In The County Of Durham And Of Visitors Thereto To Acquire Afreehold Or Long Leasehold Interest In And To Restore And Preserve The Railay Station At North Road, Darlington As A Place Of Historical Interest And Educational Value. B) To Acquire For Preservation, Objects Associated With The History Of Transport And To Accumulate A Collection Of Such Objects For Exhibition To The Public. C) To Establish At North Road Station A Study Centre For Use By Persons Interested In Researching Into And Recording Transport History. (For Further Details See Clause 3).
