## **Minutes** 

- The minutes from the previous meeting were approved.  Proposed by Helen Cross, seconded by Sandra Parker. 

## **Scout Group Governance** 

- The Transition from Executive Committee to Board of Trustees has been agreed by 11[th] Nuneaton Committee.  The decision has been made to adopt the formal constitution as written in POR.  Our financial year runs 1[st] April to 31[st] March.  We have at least 6 board members with a minimum of 4 required to enable decisions to be made.  Approved by Tom Ind, seconded by Doug Shorter. 

## **Treasurer’s Report** 

- We have a very healthy bank balance and we need ideas on how to spend the funds in the best way to improve our facilities and support our sections.

- All sections have worked very hard and had some very successful events.  There is a definite food theme. 

- We always need more volunteers to help run sections, join in events and take part in camps.

## **Census** 



- Cubs numbers are very high at the moment but some of these will be moving on to Scouts in the next few months. 

## **Election of Officers and Committee** 

- GSL’s nomination for position of Group Chair is Andrew Shorter, this was approved by Jonathan Miller. 

- Anne Tallentire (Secretary) was proposed by Karen Miller and seconded by Doug Shorter to continue in her current role. 

- Carl Miller (Treasurer) was proposed by Karen Miller and seconded by Bob Sambrook to continue in his current role. 

- Doug Shorter, Aston Watkins, Hassain Aziz were elected as Trustees. 

- Carol Cottrell, Sandra Parker, Helen Cross continue in their positions on the committee. 

- George Bachelor, the accountant, has agreed to be the group’s Auditor. 

## **Any Other Business** 

- Long Service Awards: 

   - Joe Cooksey, Jacque Smith, Rob Tambini – 5 Years 

   - Tony Frearson, Carol Ball – 40 Years 

- Congratulations to Doug Shorter for his British Empire Medal 

- Finlay and Ted are on their way to Jamboree 

- Welcome to new volunteers Beth, Donna, Harry, Hannah, Lindsey, Angel and Georgia 

- Thank you to every Volunteer that makes it all possible. 

- Our thoughts and best wishes go out to Rosie who is currently battling cancer. 

## **Comments from County Commissioner Paul Wakeley** 

- What a fantastic year, lots of skills involved in the adventures and it is great to see such teamwork. 

- On behalf of Warwickshire Scout Council, thank you to all the volunteers, leaders, parents and young people who get involved. 

- The challenge for all is to consider opening a Squirrels section to get 4 to 6 year olds into Scouting.
