Leaders are all brilliant and Abby our Young Leader is an asset to the Group (turning
up every week in smart uniform).
Struggling for Leaders some weeks. Will look at starting parent rota for next half term.
The Beaver Colony is currently full with 25 Beavers and a bit of a waiting list. We currently have 3 appointed leaders and 3 scouts helping out. Also when they can, Bob (Scout Leader) and Becca (Assistant Cub Leader) help as well.
We have done lots of crafts this year and most of the Beavers achieved the Craft Challenge Award. We have done fire lighting to toast marshmallows on, learned how to do some knots, a bit of orienteering and map reading. As usual we have played lots of games! We took some of the Beavers on our Group Camp to Bispham Hall, two stayed over and some came just for the Saturday. It was very muddy and someone, mentioning no names, fell in it!
We are very proud of the eight Beavers who achieved the highest award in the Beaver section, the Chief Scout’s Bronze Award. All in all it has been a very busy 12 months. Thank you everyone for your support

On a Thursday, we have 32 Cubs, 3 Young Leaders and 4 Cub Leaders, we have also had some of the Scouts helping as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. Over the last 12 months we have had 8 Cubs complete their Chief Scout Silver Award. We will be looking at another 3 Cubs before the summer break. On a Wednesday there are 6 Cubs and 3 Leaders and one Cub has just completed their Chief Scout’s Silver Award.

I would like to thank the young leaders & cub leaders for their support in giving their time and contribution in building the Cubs’ skills, and planning future activities and camps. Without them my role would be so much harder.
Wednesday cubs have had a great start and now has 6 cubs. We have only had a few meetings this year, but have done a lot of fun things, like backwoods cooking, team building games, knots and lots more. We’re looking forward to growing in numbers and hopefully making sixes in the next year!
From Akela Toni and Akela Lesley, Thank you to all who have made this happen!
There are currently 38 Scouts across six Patrols and although 16 are due to move on at the end of the term there are some on the waiting list and there will be Cubs due up.

Four Scouts gained the Chief Scout’s Gold Award last summer and another ten are due to complete this award by the end of the term.
Eight Scouts have completed the DofE Bronze expedition and another six are due to undertake their expedition in the next half term.

There is a weekend camp booked at Tawd Vale for June and our week-long summer camp in July.
Huge thanks to the Leaders and Young Leader (Bob, Tim, Andrew, Beth, Florence and Joseph) for their ideas, enthusiasm and support. Without them, the Scouts would not be able to undertake the wide range of activities offered or achieve their badges and awards.
Apologies I can't be there – the Explorers have had a Cracking year this year. We have 12 explorers with more due to come up from Scouts in September.
Lots of the Explorers are involved with international trips this year including,

We also have 1 explorer who has gained there bronze Duke of Edinburgh awards and 4 silvers.
Various camps from water sports in Kielder to the return of I'm A Nomad Get Me Out Of Here!
