## Section D Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

The centre continues strongly with its restructure and with new vibrant Trustee’s bringing new and fresh ideas to a long-established centre. Existing activities like Nursery, Playgroups, Football and Karate continue to thrive.

The dance session has moved on to new premises, but this has opened new doors allowing Dance competitions for new groups and these have proved very successful and popular.

We have also had the opportunity to set up Holiday Clubs for all age groups, and again all very well attended and supported by waiting lists. We have also set up a NERF Club and Futsal Sessions which is proving popular.

Over the last 12 months we have become a “go to “centre for Children’s parties which range from Bouncy Castles, Football, Animal Zoo, NERF which again are all very popular.

Our New Trustee’s are certainly looking forward to many new ventures, including Junior and Senior Youth Clubs, Karate Clubs, Kids Fitness and all in the coming months plans.

In Line with increased activity, we have been successful in obtaining funding for the updating of the centre and this has included: Kitchen Refurbishment, Toilet Upgrades, New Flooring, Upgrade and Rendering to the outside of the building. Thanks are extended to all involved.

I can as Chair, say how excited I am for the way forward and continuation of our service in the West Area of Sunderland and beyond.

In Summary:

- Establishment of new Trustees

- New Activities

- Refurbished Premises

- Installed a new Heating System

- Shown Financial Stability

## **Section E                    Financial review**

The Charity Operates with a designated Reserve Account.

**Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves**

**Details of any funds materially in deficit**

## **Further financial review details (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include additional information, where relevant about:

- the charity’s principal sources of funds (including any fundraising);

- how expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity;

- investment policy and objectives including any ethical investment policy adopted.

The charity’s primary source of income is generated through hiring out the community centre to local groups, businesses, and individuals for a wide range of activities and events. This income stream is essential for maintaining the facility and funding community programs. In addition to venue hire, we occasionally receive donations from supporters and grants from funding bodies, which help us to enhance our services and deliver additional projects that benefit young people and the wider community.

- This year, we were delighted to receive funding from the National Lottery, which has played a crucial role in supporting our work. This grant has enabled us to maintain and improve our facilities, deliver a wide range of community events, and expand programs that benefit young people and residents. The support from the National Lottery has strengthened our ability to meet the needs of the community and continue making a positive impact.
