On 23 January 2024, we We￿ delighted to welcome Cath Carr-Deed (fornier Chlmwood Head of Education) to

Clwnwood ethos and sphere of infiuence for sood. During Jill's lenure as Head, Chamwood was rightly

They re¢ognise that public policy provision continues to be in a state of significant cbange, and their
intmtion has been to ensure the Trust IB robus¢ fit for pu4)ose. and abl¢ to respond to changing circumstances.
To this end the trustees n)aintain a ri5J£ registor, tbrough ithich the major Areas of risk to which the Chamwood
Trust is eX￿ed are systematically scrutinised over an atlnual cycle. The trustees have considered those ri8ks
and appropriate steps to mitigale where they cen.
Universal earfy years free entitlement (FE) feas for 15 or 30 nursery hours each continued to be a major
sowce of income for th¢ TrusL These ar¢ paid on th¢ basls of occupancy. Unusually foi C'lwnwoo(L places at
the nursery ￿tre not fully subscribed for the opening tsnn alt1￿Ugh dwing the year, this substantially returned
to dose to full oc¢upaucy.
Chamwood's provision accommodate5 this, wl]ile at the same time seekitig to maintain a family focussed
per8pective where children and paTents have the opportunity for time together.

able to report that cblldren ar¢ reujly happy to be at Chamwoo(L parents are plwed with the sèrvice they
receive, and staff commitnwtt aud n￿ra1¢ remains high.

Chamwood's llet d¢ficAt for the year iocre&sed from £64,S81 to £94,858. Specific cause5 for the cunent yeor
defi¢it differed from the prior year and some appeared n￿re 'One￿ff . Noneth¢less, the trust¢¢s are incre&singly
mindful of the need to return to a balanced budget and take action in the medium terni to restore thamwo(xl's
Total inc4)me increased by £12,340 (1.5 /0) from £842,736 to £855.076. However, it was a disAppointing y&ar
overall for donations aod legacies income. which ivas down by £41.906 from £69,966 to £28.060. JX)nations

as physiotherapy, speech therapy, the Opportunity Gmups and general wider famity support. During the yeRT.

Despite the deficit for tha year and a reduction in Working capital (net current ass¢ts), th¢ trustsos are pleased to

Th¢ trustees ¢onsider that unrestricted funds not invested in tangible fixed &ssets or designatsd for specific

equates to approximately £233,000 for the year ended 31 August 2024. At this level, the trvstees fe¢1 that they
