## **Summary**
Welcome to Newbold on Avon Village Hall’s second annual report. Here we set out the progress made over the 2024-25 financial year (April 24 -March 25).
2024/25 was another significant year for the Village Hall as the Trustees prioritised getting the building into a far better condition, and working with local groups to turn the Village Hall into a true asset. Building on the Community survey conducted over the summer of 2023, the Hall has hosted more and more events, drawing in more footfall by facilitating an amazing series of events, classes, and community sessions.
Hours booked previously rose from 96 in 2022-23 to 224 in 2023-24 – an increase of 133%. That rate of increase showed the commitment to the Village Hall and reflected the improvements underway. **We are therefore incredibly pleased to note that hours booked increased to 724 in 2024-25, an increase of 323% for the previous year.**
This is a staggering uptick – and with the average month seeing 60 hours of bookings, we can firmly see the fruits of the actions taken in recent years. More villagers, local businesses, faith groups, and charities are using our Hall than ever before.
Throughout all of this work, the tireless team of trustees have given their time voluntarily, to organise projects, manage the day-to-day operations, and keep up our statutory obligations, both as an employer and as a public space. As we progress through 2025-26, we can look forward to more improvements, more restoration, and more community. We hope the village joins us on this journey,

## **Events**
Dog training, Dancing, Fitness, Yoga, Pilates, Mixed Martial Arts – the classes hosted by the Village Hall have become more diverse and plentiful than ever before. Such groups have provided local instructors the space to share their expertise, and the place for local people to meet and bond over new or refreshed passions.
The Hall has not just hosted classes, we have hosted businesses, charities, and religious and community groups. Whether looking for dog-photography, craft fairs, a space for theatre rehearsals or for tutoring, local business and community leaders have utilised the Village Hall to make their groups more successful, helping the local community and local economy.
This hugely increased range of bookings has had another impact too. The increased number of hours booked have allowed Trustees to work with local charities to give discounted or free access to the hall – supporting community discussion of local planning applications, and more recently hosting events to help rescue dogs find new homes.
In short, the Hall is now abuzz with activity – and is booked more days than not. It is once again a community asset.
## **Renovations**
Last year saw the transition from structural repairs and maintenance turn to cosmetic improvements, and though the work continues, much has been accomplished.
The most fundamental has been the installation of new windows, with thanks to £23,000 of Capital Grant funding from SUEZ, allowing the transformation of the old, boarded windows, a securer setting for hirers, and a quieter, warmer space.
The trustees have also given their own time, alongside our brilliant caretaker, to repaint the Hall, make a sign to share our presence with more villagers, win grant funding to install new fire doors and to provide new chairs and facilities for hirers use.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Newbold Vlllage Hall for the year
ended 31 Marth 2025.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance
with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011.
I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the
Charities Act 2011 and in carrying out my examination I have followed the applicable Directions
given by the Charity Commisslon.
Independent examlner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in
connection with the examination which give me reasonable cause to believe that in any material
respect:
the accounting records wete not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act
2011; or
the accounts do not accord with the accounting records.. or
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concernin8 the form and
content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other
than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair view, which is not a matter
considered a5 part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to
which attention should be drawn in this report.
