NOTES ON FNANCIAL STATEMENT
BALANCE SHEET
The trustees who are also directors of the charity for thc purposes of thc Companies Act
2006, present their report with the financial statcmcnts of the charity for the year endcd 31
March 2024. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by
Charities: Statement of Recommended Practicc applicablc to charities preparing their
accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective l January 2015).
OBJECTIVES IIN'D ACTIITITIES
The Welsh Council on Alcohol and Other Drugs (the Council) is a Registered Charity (no
501658) established "to advance the cducation of the public in thc benefits of promoting a
lifestyle free from substance misuse; to provide support to those who suffcr in any way as a
result of their substance misuse, in particular, but not exclusively, women and children, who.
as a result of criminal behaviors, are in conditions of mental and/or physical distress; to
prescrve and protect the good health of the public by the provision of advisory and
counselling services"
The trustees will hope to amend these charitable Objectives & Aims in their AGM on 29
January 2025.
Proposed amendments to Charltable objects
(l) To advance the education of the public in the benefits of promoting a lifestyle free
from substance misuse and maladaptive behaviours
(2) To provide support to those who suffcr in any way as a result of the impact of
substance misuse and maladaptive behaviours, in particular but not exclusively.
partners, families,, and fricnds who, as a result of these behaviours, are in conditions
of mental and/or physical distress
(3) To preserve and protect the good health of the public by the provision of counselling
services, ongoing support and aftercare.

The charity has been dormclnt for some years. Recently, a rcneived vision lias been sought to,
apply and promote its objectives in the current digital agye. To that end. current trustees are
investigating new projects to realise its objLclives and exploring new fundingi avenues.

.4nnual General Mcctings.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charlty for the year ended
31st March 2024.
As the charity trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts In accordance
with the requirements of the Charities Art 2011 ("the Act").
I report in respect of my examiniation of the Trust's accounts carried out under sertion 145
of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions
given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
I have completed my examination. I confrm that no material matters have come to my attention
in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in any material respert:
accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Art or
th.e accounts do not accord with the accounting records
