Trustees are appointed on a nomination and election basis at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Trustees have been recruited from within the organisation, either as current members (playing and non- playing), those associated with the Band or those with association by association. Objectives and activities The band exists for the study and practice of brass band music in order to foster public knowledge and appreciation of such music by means of performance.

stannington Brass Band Trustees, Annual Report (continued) Year endod 31 Decomber 2024 Achievements and performance The band had a successful contesting year coming 9th in the Yorkshire Area Championship Section contest and 3rd in the Senior Cup of the Spring Festival gaining promotion to the Grand Shield. The band also came 41h in the Wetherby March and Hymn Contest, 3rd in the Morley March and Hymn Contest and 2nd in the Lecester BBA own choice test ple￿ contest Open Section. The band took on a full schedule of engagements in 2024 the donations to the band in particular from our Christmas carolling season were again very generous. Our own con￿rtS in April, October and December were very Suc￿sSfUl. Subs income was steady through the year due to a stable band of players in both senior band and training band. The bonus ball game continues to be a good source of fundraising income for the band. The band secured £2,500 funding from JG Graves Trust and £2,000 from Sheffield Town Trust which went towards our acoustic treatment of the band room. The band invested in B flat tubas this year {trading in our existing B flat tubas) on top of ongoing rna1ntenan￿ and servicing of other instruments. Flnancial review A deficit of £5,393 was made during the financial year (2023.. surplus of £5,372) leaving unrestricted reserves of £17,632 (2022.. £23,026} carried forward into the next financial year. Stannington Brass Band Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Stannington Brass Band Yéar ended 31 December 2024 I report to the trustees on my examination ofthe financial statements of Stannington Brass Band ('the charity.) for the year ended 31 December 2024. Responslbllltles and basi5 of report As the trustees of the company (and also its directors for the purposes of company law) you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 (Yhe 2006 Act.). Having satisfied myself that the accounts of the company are not required to be audited under Part 16 of the 2006 Act and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts as carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 {'the 2011 Act'}. In carrying out my examination I have followed the Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(bl of the 2011 Act. Independent examinerfs statement I have compl&ted my examination. I confi'rm that no matters have come to my attention in connects'on with the examination giving me cause to belleve.. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 386 of the 2006 Act., or the flnancial statements do not accord wlth those records; or the financial statements do not comply with the accountlng requirements of section 396 of the 2006 Act other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair, view which 18 not a matter considered as part of an independent examination; or the fi'nancial statements have not been prepared in accordance with the methods and principles of the Statement of Recommended Practice for accounting and reporting by charities applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102). I have no concems and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
