**Objects:** THE SOCIETY IS ESTABLISHED FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES ININ THE AREA ADMINISTERED BY THE WHALEY BRIDGE TOWN COUNCIL COMPRISING FERNILEE, TAXAL, HORWICH, WHALEY, HOCKERLEY, BRIDGEMONT,YEARDSLEY AND FURNESS VALE WHICH AREA SHALL HERINAFTER BE REFERRED TO AS "THE AREA OF BENEFIT".1)TO PROMOTE HIGH STANDARDS OF PLANNING AND ARCHITECTURE IN OR AFFECTING THE AREA OF BENEFIT. 11)TO STIMULATE PUBLIC INTEREST IN AND CARE FOR THE BEAUTY,HISTORY AND CHARACTER OF THIS AREA AND ITS SURROUNDINGS.111)TO SECURE THE PRESERVATION,PROTECTION,DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF FEATURES OF HISTORIC OR PUBLIC INTEREST IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT.

**Activities:** Holds meetings.  Co-operates with local authorities , planning committees, and all other statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and charities.  Holds fund raising events.  Helps to promote civic pride in the local area and to generate public interest in and care for its beauty, history and character.
