## **REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES**

## **FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31[ST] MARCH 2023**

The Trustees have pleasure in submitting the Report and Accounts for the period ended 31st March 2022.

Throughout this year (April 2022-March 2023) we have continued to pursue our charitable objectives.

Our regular Sunday Services have continued, and our attendance has continued to grow, regularly reaching one hundred people on a Sunday morning, with many visitors and the gallery in regular use.

The English Classes have continued to develop, these classes have been enhanced since we have employed two part-time international workers. One of their many aims is to deepen the relationships with the English class students and the wider international community. We have also held a number of international evenings to celebrate the different nations that are represented by our church family.

The Toddlers Group has gone from strength to strength with about thirty children in attendance.

We are still operating both the Foodbank and the Fareshare market on a Friday afternoon. Both these services are very busy with well over sixty families coming every week.

People have come to our Sunday services through all of these ministries. Our weekly prayer meeting continues and is growing.

Sunday School continues to be well attended and our membership has continued to grow. After a short break we have resumed our Townkids sessions on a Sunday evening with around 8 children in attendance.

As with any building we are continually looking at how we can improve and maintain our building. We have a number of projects that we are looking at starting in the near future.

Our online presence continues also. We stream our Sunday Services and a daily livestream at 8.45am each weekday continues also.

We continue to thank God for the financial situation of the church. We are greatly encouraged by this.

We continue to invest in training with the aim of supporting our volunteers and raising up new leaders in the church.

We look to God to continue to build his church in the year to come.

This report is signed on behalf of the Trustees on 16th June 2023 by

## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINERS REPORT**

## **TO THE TRUSTEES OF**

## **GRANGETOWN BAPTIST CHURCH**

I report on the accounts of the Trust for the period ended 31[st] March 2023, which are set out on pages 9 to 12.

## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner**

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

- examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act;

- to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and

- to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

## **Basis of independent examiner's report**

My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

## **Independent examiner's statement**

In connection with my examination, no material matters have come to my attention which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect:

- accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act or

- the accounts do not accord with the accounting records

I have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
