2024, December 2024, March 2025 and June
2025.
Each concert was attended by around 130 –
200 people. We have noticed that our audience
has grown in number during the 2024-25
season.
We engage professional soloists and
orchestras to ensure high quality performances.
Many of our audience recognise the Christmas
concert as a highlight of the year in the village.
We provide a platform for Liverpool Brass
Band, which has many younger members in our
Christmas Concert.
Our June concert was a collaboration with the
Creative Arts Department of the local high
school; we held a songwriting competition,
poetry and art competitions and the school
choir wrote a song which was performed jointly
by the school and the Choral Society. The
audience contained many young people who
may have had limited contact with choral music.
Feedback from the school was extremely
positive from the young people involved. This
was funded by a substantial donation from one
of our members, the entirety of the donation
being used either to facilitate the school’s
involvement in the concert (prizes, printing
costs of commissioned song etc) or as a
donation to the work of the Creative Arts
Department.
We also held a “Come and Sing” in early
February 2025 which was attended by around
100 people, many of whom were not members
of the Choral Society.|
