Objectives and Activities

approaches to prospective donors who want to give financial assistance to support the
charity 'Ascent' in its educational program in Tsfat, Israel and its endeavours to
turthLr religTious obscrvanLe and Jewish F.ducation.
Achievements and Performance

acLounts and making &Frants to the charity 'Ascent' in Isracl. All fund raisingi and
administration was done on a voluntary basis mainly by personal approaches from
Rabbi Shaul l.eiter.
Financial Report
DurinLy the year. donation income in the sum of £121,533 was received and £123,000
'as passed over to AsLent in Israel towards supporting that charity. At 31 December
2023 a sum of £10,209 was held in reserve.

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Friends of Ascent
I report on the accounts of the trust for the year ended 31 December 2023, which are
set out on pages 3-4.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The trustees are responsible for the prcparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees
consider that an audit is not required under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993
(the 1993 Act) and that an independent examination És needed.
It is my responsibility to:
-exarnine the accounts under section 43 of the 1993 Act.
-to f'ollow the procedures laid dowi in the gcneral I)irections given by the Charity
Commission under section 43(7)(b) ot'the 1993 Act; and
-to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner's report
My cxamination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by
the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a r¢view of the accounting
records kLpt by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those
records. It also includes consideration of any unusual itcms or disclosures in the
accounts and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerningT any such matters.
'I"he procedures undertaken do not provide all thc evidence that would bc required in
an audit and consequciitly no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a
'true and fair view, and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement
below.
Independent examiner's statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention
(i)
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the
requirements:
to keep accounting reLords in accordance with section 41 of the 1993
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and
comply with the accountiii&y requiremLnts of the 1993 Act.

I. ACCOUNTINC POLICIKS
(a) Basis of accounting
The financial statements hal'e been prepared undcr the historical cost convention and
in accordance with the F inancial Reporting Standard for Smaller I ntities and the
Lharities SORP.
(b ) Incoming Resources
Donations are credited to the Statement of Financial Activities (SOFA) in the period
in which the donations arc received.
(d ) Taxation
ThL Lompany is a RcgFiStered Charity (No. 328625) and is exempt from taxation
insofar as. its income is applied for charitable purposes.
