ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
ChaAtable A¢tlvbti•s
The period covered by this rep)rt is one of significant challenge. maximising and creats.ng
cpportunities and kJ15 of iesth.ng and leaming a5 an cfganisation through our prcgrammes and
processes. The first half of the year largely focu5sed on financial management and stabilising income.
planning and growing the charity's visibility ar￿ profile locally. The second half of the year reaped the
rewards of the work done in the first six months, enabling us to secure fijnding for two new
workstreams that allowed us grow our reach in terms of our dient grwp bLrt also geogiaphicalty.
Programme Delfvery Aprll 2022- March 2023
The Domestic Atsuse Perpetrator Prograrnrne {DAPPI communrty-based group intervention continued
to deliver al pace and operate a waiting list. Due lo contract changes befvleen the Ministry of Justice
and CAFCASS ar￿ a subsequent instruction from Respect. we lost the ability to lake on CAFCASS
referrals. This not onty impacted fnancially bul also on the Ilow of referrals into ts DAPP group.
In the first half of the ye¥ we ajso had to limit seW-referral$ into Ihe prtKJramme in order to carefully
manage resources. This again impacte(I the number of dients entering into the group and also
the number of clients being suppMed in the Integrated Parfner SeNce. This was ￿$01Ved later in Ihe
year when we were a￿e lo prudenlly re-open the Ilow of self-referrals into the group intervenlw and
the partner sefvice. This is an area that we conts.nue to rr*Jnitor in order lo ensure Ihal we are
managing capacity and critically res￿Jrces.
The high risk, high harni IOM programme also continued to see high levels of refertals frcrfn a range of
statutory and third sector parthers. Thanks to support from Ihe Plymouth Changing Future programme.
we were able to strengthen this Servi￿ with some addib.onal project support whKh enabled our
Behavrour Change Facilitstor to focus her and capaeity on face to face work wth clients. We are
seeing some excepth.onal outcomes for indiwduals engaging wth thi5 intervenkn"on. We showcased this
work al a muMi-agency'Responsible Togetherf event in February 2023. We were successlul toward5
the eryj of the year in securing a 5rnall amount of funding from the Office of the Devon and Comwall
Police army Crime Commissioner to pilot an intemal Behavwr Change IDVA for a ￿0-month period.
Our aim was to offer an intemal IDVA service working diwlly with our Behaviour Change Facililator
and Safeguarding Lead that enabled Ahimsa to engage with rn0￿ victim suNivors whose partners
were engaged in Behaviour Change work an¢J to better manage risk. This pilot was hugely successful
and further funding has been secured fcK 2&24.
In the second half of the year Ahimsa successfijlty secured funding for hvo new projects. The first
'Inside Out. was a Xest and leam, pilot fLKussed on suppyth.ng young people between the ages ol
18-25 who are exhibib.ng abusive beha￿OurS in their inlimate or familial ieL2tionships. Thi5 programme
included an inlegraled Family Support Service offerir*J stjpport for partners or family members of
those individuals ervjaging in behaviour change work. After a period of scopiThJ. the project
parameters were extended lo support young people from the age of 16. This interventiorb is based on
our Ahimsa model but was adapted to meet the needs of young peop￿ and their partners andlor
families- this required some innovative approxhe5 and r￿W partnership working. Thts work
continue5 into the 23124 per￿.

Secondly, Ahimsa secured fvJndiThJ fr(Mn Torbay COW￿11 lo delNer a Dmstic AIKJse Perpetrator
Programme IDAPPI community-based grwp intervention and an integrated Partner Service to
Individuals Iwing in the Torbay area. This represented a new geographical area of work for Ahimsa.
Again, this required some significant partnership bUi￿l￿g with organisation5 (both ststijtory and third
sector) in Torbay and a range of new wocesses and referral pathways.
In both new projects and in Ihe additional IOM roks (Behawour Change IDVA and Project Officer).
Ahimsa were able to maximise its existing Spec￿11$1 team. offering oprthunities to team members to
grow thwr w(￿k and gain new eX￿rienceS with new d*nt groups and in new areas. Many took on
new or enhanced roles enabling their development and growth. This is often difficult within small
organisations and something to be immensely of.
Two projects also closed in repc￿b'ng peric*J. The fur*Jing for the on&year scoping Stalking Project
came to an end and we submitted a CoMprehen￿ve rew)rt to the Pc4ice and Crime Comrnissioner.
The lead on this work also delivered a short lunch tsme leaming session as part of the 16 days of
activism event in November 2022 to Sha￿ findings and to facilitste a rour¢d table discussion. And. the
Starting Point rniect, in colL4t)oration with Children's Care. ended. Both projects delivered
considerable learning to Ahimsa around design and delNery of new workstreams and in partnership
WQTking that have supported the launch of the new project for y¢XAng people and in Tofbay.
Over the course of the year. one Ses￿Onal worker left the organisation to PUT5ue other ambitions,
however the remainder of the team conts.nue lo offer 5tstm.lty within Ahimsa and an exceptional level of
sefvice delivery and exFertise. We have conkn.nued to be SUFPOrted by a strong. experienced 808rd
and were delighted lo welcome a new Truslee in March 2023.
Multl-agancy worklng and partnerships
Ahimsa has continued to play a key rde in a rary of rnu1￿agencY meeliThJs and f￿3 across both
