The Ramakrishna Vivekannda Mission, Uk Centre, Victoria Inn, 238 Bridgeman Street, Bolton is registered with the Charity Commissioners No. 328552 and constituted by Deed of Trust.

OBJECTIVES

To preach, practice and propagate the method of realisation of the " Highest Truth" or attainment of liberation from bondage through selfless service for mankind particularly for the suffering humanity irrespective of caste, creed, color or Religion as preached and practised by Sri Ramakrishna Paramhangsa and Swami Vivekananda.

To carry on and conduct all such spiritual and cultural activities that may help the harmonious development of an indicidual and ensure Social and National integrity.

To undertake Social, Educational, Medical and other Welfare activities for the massess particularly for the poor and destitute.

ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS

This year our fundamental objective has been met in that we have again maximised the utilisation of the building facilities for the outer community as proposed in the application to the Big Lottery fund.

The Mission has continued to provide various community activities including cultural activities, music and dance classes.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF

THE RAMAKRISHNA VIVEKANANDA MISSION

We report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2022, which are set out on pages 4 to 6.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

As the charity’s trustees you are responsible for the preparations of the accounts; you consider that the audit requirement of section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the Act) does not apply. It is our responsibility to state, on the basis of procedures specified in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners under section 43(7)(b) of the act, whether particular matters have come to our attention.

Basis of independent examiner’s report

Our examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting record kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such

In connections with our examination, no matter has come to our attention:

(1) Which gives us reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:-

to keep accounting records in accordance with section 31 of the Act; and

to prepare accounts which acord with the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements of the Act

have not been met; or

(2) to which, in our opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

Depreciation is calculated so as to write off the cost of an asset, less its estimated residential value, over the useful economic life of that asset as follows:

Fixtures & Fittings - 15% reducing balance per annum Freehold Land & Buildings - 2% straight line per annum

2. BUILDING ENDOWMENT FUND - BIG LOTTERY GRANT

The building endowment fund represents a grant from the Big Lottery Fund of £260,482 to carry out an extension and improvements to the building at 238 Bridgeman Street, Bolton. This building is to be held as a capital endowment and is to be used by the Mission and the community. The building is being depreciated in line with the policy stated in note 1.
