Report of the tru8tee8 for the year ended 31 . March 2026
The trustees present their annual report and financial
statements of the charity for the year ended 31.. March
2025. The statements have been prepared in
accordance with the accounting policies set out in note 1
to the accounts and comply with the charity's trust deed,
the Charities Act 2011 and the Statement of
Recommended Practice (SORP- FRS102) as amended
in February 2016.

Hope Christian Trust ( the Trust,) is a registered charity
and constituted under a Trust Deed dated 22"
November 1989.
Trustees are appointed following an invitation made to
them to join the board.
In the opinion of the trustees, the objectives clause of
the Trust Deed still adequately outlines the objectives of
the Trust and indicates the public benefit of the work that
it carries out'.-
To support and set up, provide for and maintain such
charitable work in educational establishments in Israel
and Arab Countries as the Trustees from time to time
think fit so that young people and adults may re￿1ve
training on the basis of Christian principles and may
receive instruction in the Christian faith and its practical
outworking including where necessary the relief of
hunger, povety and sickness among young people and
adults and the provision of proper accommodation for
them '
Ri8k management
The trustees continue to review regularly their risk
management policy where they conduct internal reviews
of operations to endeavour to minimise risk.
The simple operation of fundraising and then distributing
monies received ensures that the Trust is not impacted
by the vagaries of the level of funds raised.
Furthermore, the Trust gives no undertakings to provide
any ￿rtain amount of money for ministries that it might
choose to support and it has no contractual liability to
maintain either financially or othe￿iSe the projects for
which it raises funds.
Actlvltie8
The Trust is constantly researching areas of need both
for education and for welfare in the lands of the Bible
and during its 30+ years of activity in the area it has
established many ongoing links with missionary, relief
and development organisations and educational bodies.
To endeavour to meet the needs of these groups the
Trust raises monies, mainly through:
appeals including submitting proposals to
sympathetic charities and foundations that have
similar principles to the Trust
talks given by trustees and on line communication.
maintaining contact with a core of regular supporters
and donors for its work overseas.
During the year in question significant conflict has
continued in the areas in which the Trust works and this
has ne￿ssitated some changes in the focus of its

ministry, whilst still working within the parameters of the
Trust Deed. Some organisational changes have of
necessity, also taken pla￿ in the ministries supported
by the Trust. The work and ministry of the Trust and its
involvement has certainly been more demanding over
the last year.
During the course of the year under review political
turmoil has prevented trustees from making more than
two visits to the areas of ministry. However, dialogue has
been maintained and some monies released and,
through a network of established correspondents,
correctly applied to the various ministries where either
photographic or written eviden￿ of delivery has been
received.
The Lighthouse School.
Lighthouse School is located in Gaza City, a focal
point for the destruction arising from the outbreak
of war following the Hamas attack on southern
Israel on October 7. 2023. The fighting has
continued throughout the period covered by this
report and has seriously impacted upon the Trust's
work with the Lighthouse School.
The school has been closed since the beginning of
the conflict,. there has been some damage to the
building causing some of the staff to flee the area.
However, during the early part of 2025 there was a
brief ceasefire and the school opened its
kindergarten but this was short-lived. The future
remains uncertain but the Trust has provided
support for the staff and continued to pay salaries
until the end of the school year in August 2024 to
accord with Palestinian laws. The Trust has also
assisted the staff who remain with gifts of food and
other provisions until the end of the year under
review. A special appeal fund (Lighthouse School
Community Support Fund) was initiated in order to
support the future functioning of the school and
staff as well as families connected with the school,
both in the present and in the future, in partnership
with other Christian organisations. Individuals,
churches and foundations have all been very
generous in their support.
Zababdeh Community Family Centre
Zababdeh Community Centre was conceived by a
Dutch charity, Tabitha Ministries and has been
involved in the development of the ￿ntre which
provides Spa￿ for schooling for children,
community area for the local folk and a Christian
church. The upper floor has been redeveloped to

provide guest house accommodation but sadly this
aspect was only completed just before the
outbreak of the war in October 2023. The Pastor
whose idea it was originally to build the centre
remains in the area but many of the previous
population have moved away to escape the
fighting and the unemployment.
The project was the last to be undertaken by
Tabitha Ministries and that charity has now been
wound up. As the Trust has been involved in
supporting the operation of the ￿ntre it has offered
some assistance to find another body to assume
responsibility for its operation.
Other activities of the Trust:
Hebron Evangelical School
The Trust continues to give some support to
this school particularly towards the needs of
hearing impaired pupils
Programme for Theological Education by
Extension
The programme works on a worldwide basis to
provide online education in faith. The Trust
continues to support this ministry in Jordan by
channelling grant aid from a British Christian
Trust to this educational project.
The House of Hope.
The Trust receives support for this home for
young special needs people in Bethlehem and
passes it on as required
Bethlehem Bible College and its caring arm
the Shepherd Society
Although a new Trust
The Bethlehem
Development Trust has been established in
the UK the HCT still receives funds for this
educational and caring ministry and for staff
and student support in Bethlehem which it
passes on as required.
Financial review
The Trust's work is entirely reliant upon the success of its
fundraising efforts. It has no contractual obligations with any
third paty other than the obligation to distribute monies
raised to the respective cause/ministy. This simple activity of
raising monies then distributing them has been thwarted by
wars in its areas of operation and the want of supporters of the
Trust to donate money to provide assistance to the troubled
areas.
As a result the funds held by the Trust have expanded
significantly over the last two years because they cannot be
distributed at their points of need due to the infrastructures

having been destroyed. With this in mind the trustees have
maintained contact with some of the major donors whose
money remains unable to be dissipated. All have indicated
satisfaction with the Trust holding the monies until further
notice.
The Trust has endeavoured to manage the level of funds held '
by spreading the monies between a number of fmancial
institutions whereby each of the balances falls within the
government, s FSCS protected limit.
No remuneration is paid to the trustees and the Trust has no
employees. Apart from overseas travel, no reimbursement of
any expenditure was paid to trustees or volunteers. However,
gratuities totalling £79.00 were paid to two volunteers who
helped with the administration of the Trust during the year.
