Summary of Wilmslow Wells activities
Since its forniation in the mid-1980'4 the charity has rdis&J £1.489.789. Its running costs
have utilised £1 0,736 of this. Thi5 has left £1,479.053 (99.3t/*o of funds rnised) available for
its charitable objectives. Of this £1,460.911 (98.8 /0) has been sp¢nl on over 275 projects,

often from unsafe sources.
The funds we have not yet spent reflect the lime it takes to Adenlify and evaluate projects.
We have to obtain inforniation on projects. ensur¢ they appear to be properly r¢s¢arched as
to cost and feasibility and have appropriate ongoing mainienance arrangernents in place and
satisfy ourselves they ￿present reasonable value in lenns of the number of people helped.
We request reports on the progress and completion of projecW to provide evidence that the
funds were used appropriately and to enable us to monitor the proj￿1 against the proposal.

Our fund-rnising events continue to raise significant amounts despite the impact of Covid
strictions. Our Garden day raised a record amounl as supporters took advantage of the
easing of lockdown to spend time outdoors enjoying the efforts of our gardeners. Other
events had to be adapted &$ they could not take place due to government restrictions. Our
Souperday in October 2020 was replaced with SoupenveeK featuring soup recipes and a
quiz to download. The March 2021 Souperday was replaced by an online tslk aboul gardens
around Ihe world by David Cash. In addition we held an online 'Soap and water appeal, to
raise fvnds towards hand washing stations in Khools in Zarnbia and Dave Tonks. one of our
Trustees gave a talk on our work through the years. We sold Christmas cards direct to
supporters r&her Ihan via the Wilmslow Christhias card shop which w&s unable to open. All
Ihese activilies maintained our profile and highlighted the enornious need for water in
Africa. We also maintained our presence on Facelx)ok and created an Instagram account
linked to Garden5 Day. As a result of all thes¢ efforts we managed to exceed our previous
year's totals both for fundraising ¢vcnts and for donations. Tea towels and other textile
goods are also available for sale. We have an incre&sing number of supporters who have
entered into regular monthly donations by standing order. often supw)rted by Gtft Aid.
