|The Council have continued<br>to see the importance<br>in this area as ssenatitd<br>to raising our pmfile extenally.<br>Building<br>on our work in 2021, in 2022|||||||||we|
|have continued<br>to scale-up<br>marketing<br>and social media activity to help pmmote<br>the Society and its work, in||particular||using the Exhibitions||||as a||

|Our social media campaign<br>to pmmote<br>the Transformations<br>exhibition<br>at Bankside<br>Gallery pmved<br>successful,|||resulting<br>in||a boost of engagement|||||
|with the public.<br>On Instagiam,<br>we gained 229 new followers<br>between<br>5th May and 27th June. Over|the same period,|||we gained 39 followers|||||on|
|Facebook||||||||||
|Traffic to the website<br>during<br>the period<br>&om mid-May<br>to mid-June<br>(just ahead ofthe exhiliition)<br>increased||by 28%,||with|most ofthese|referrals||||
|coming &om Facebook/Instugram.||||||||||
|Additional<br>external<br>support<br>and expertise<br>was enlisted,<br>in the form of consultant,<br>Denise Yeats who|added|support<br>to the|||Transformations|||team||
|given the scale ofthe Exhiliition.<br>Denise worked on aproject basis during<br>the nm-up<br>to the opening ofTransfonnations||||Exhiliition<br>to help boost|||||PR,|
|marketing,<br>the PVs, scopoout potential<br>sponsors and supporters<br>and generally<br>help underpin<br>activity.||||||||||
|Dave Chelsom<br>continues<br>to maintain<br>and re&cab the SDC website,<br>keeping<br>it up to date and ofFering advice|||on various IT solutions<br>on|||how|||to|
|reixesent the Society extemaHy.||||||||||
|We were delighted<br>to announce<br>two new Hononuy<br>Fellows in June 2022. The individuals<br>bestowed<br>with <br>Matthew<br>Bullock<br>These individuals<br>were selected for their~ve roles in significantly<br>supporthtg|this honour were Dids Macdonald OBE and<br>and developing<br>the SDC at different<br>pivotal|||||||||
|points in its development<br>and to support<br>its legacy. For Dids Macdonald<br>this was in recognition<br>ofher|work in||founding|and the leadership||of||Anti||
|Copying<br>in Design (ACID) the vital resource it has provithxL<br>For Matthew<br>Bullock it was in recognmon|for his||mle as SDC||Treasurer<br>in the||1970's|||
|and his energies<br>in driving<br>through<br>an ambitious<br>initiative<br>which resulted<br>in the SDC being able to purchase<br>the garages in|||||Cambridge<br>for|storage.||||
|Also, he was instrumental<br>in the setting<br>up ofSDC Ltd to enable the purchase of24 Rivington<br>Street, which|||now helps to keep the Society|||||on a||
|stmng financial footing,||||||||||
|Membership<br>overall at the end of2022 remained<br>stable with around 350active members<br>(those who make) and|||another|50who do not make||but|||like|
|to remain involved.||||||||||
|The overall numbers<br>have been static over the last two years with no overall gmwth.<br>New members<br>join and||others retire or sadly pass away,|||||||but,|
|overall, the numbers<br>are similar.<br>One ofthe intentions<br>for 2023 is to significantly<br>boost membership<br>numbers<br>area.
