Constitution
1.he chai'ity was establishcd as a tru.%t on 17 October 1988 and is goveriied by a Declaralion of Trust of
that dale. as ainendcd by Cliarity c.oniniissioi) Schcmcs dated 12 December 2001 and 29 September
2004, and Menioi'aiida of 22 August ?0 l O and 15 January ?012. This report and thc a¢¢()unis Ihat
follthw are in accordance with these governing documents.
On 6 June 2025. the trustees voted unanimoiisly to convert the charity to a charitablL incorporated
orgaiiisation ICIOI and was Tegistered, with the sanie name, with the Charity Commission on 9

Objects and Activities
The objects of the charity are the furtherance and advancemeni, mainly by preacliing and ieacliing, of
the Chi'isiian rcligioii as licld b}, the Rom£in Catholic Cl)urch. 1.hese objectives are pursued in a
variety ot ways, iiicluding organisii)g foi'nial talks ai)d scniinars, arrangiiiu migsions wiihiii parishes
and pi'iinary schools, and ruiiiiiiig caiiips, coiifei'ences and missions for yoiiiig people. Thc eharity's
conference facilitics werc used extcnsil'ely lo train menibcrs and others during the ycar.
In setting their objectives 2nd detei'mining iheir activities, Ihe ti'ustees Iiave given careful consideration
to the Charity Commissson's general guidance on public benefit.

Organisation of the Charity
Various teams are charged with progressing the work of the charity, by holding parish missionsi youth
evangclisation and primary school missions, ti'aining and student outi'each woi'k, and co-operating with
the Ceili Community (which performs simil￿. work in ll'el¢￿d).
The current Leadership Teain consists of iwo elecied co-leaders and a number of teamlproject leaders
who meet at least termly as the Community, Council.
Rei'iew of Activities
I laving changed oui. men)ber5hip last year to include a wider dispersed ummunity, we have held a
numbcr of days and weekends wlicieby we can coine together in fellowship and for foi'mation and
Ii'aining. Tlicse days have taken placc in both our cominunity bases in Brentwood and Coventry with
online options for those unable to att¢iid in person. One of tlie weekeiid nieeiings thai the coiniiiunity
2llend¢d ivas a 'cliaptei wl)ere the vision and direction of the whole community was discussed and
cliosen by tlie people piesLnl.

We have hosied, in our training centre, a number of external groups for retreat days as ivell as
weekend events ovei. the year, iiicluding Alpha 14oly Spirit days. the Beginning Experieiice (a healing
focu_￿Cd rctr¢at for those wlio have experieiiced loss), tlie EJnii)unu¢l Coniniuiiity, as ivcll as, a Divine
Mercy gTroup. In the first months of th¢ aLademic year, we also continued to host work of the charity
'rroi)tlinc' in oui. main liouse in Brentw()od. As well as %crving these external gi'oups, our own
minisiry Cvents in our confei'ence centre have been very popular incliiding our Family Camp - a long
weekend tor families whieh drew nearl5, 200 people, l) Summer - our Summer Youth event. the F)
weekends for younger teenagers and regular family days. We also offeied a iiunibei. of prograinines
foi. adults includiii&J three Beloved minisii'y Kveekends. a silent retreat and Moving in the Anointing
weekends. This year we also held two men's I'etreat weekends.
Wc have continued to hosi (he youth discipleship process 'theASCEN'f' with their three annual
rctreats. We also conliiiued in parinership with Nortliampion diocese offering tlie Lux weekend tl)is
yeai. at oui. retreal centre and retreai and mission days around Il)e Diocese itself. We have coniinued to
offei. oui. youth minisiry's mentoi'ing sysiem as part of our miiiistry with young people receiving one
to onc support manthly, with pei'mission from their parents. For a number of these events, we had to
turn pcople away as ￿.¢ wcrc at capacity.
Having decided not to continue with the Mission Intern Program, we had to scale back our mission
activity 10 ren)ain man¢ig¢able for tlie sinall teani who have been servicing pi'imary and parish
missions ihi% year. The team completed six missions in primary schoolf and some I'etreat days for this
age groiip. This l)ag takeii us to Binninghatn, Brciitwood. Middlesbrougli. Royston, Clayton and
Cotebridge in Scotland. We have also completed a number of parish mission weekends, somc of
which were then paired with thcir local Primary school such as Royston and Clayton. We also
delivered a small number of day retreats foi. schools. The team ￿￿ere also able to work with the
Celebrate ieam to deliver the Celcbrat¢ Contererjce, tliis follow5 a long liiatus where thcsc confcreiices
had J)ot been liappening.

In September, the coininuniiy celebrated its 40th anniiiersai), and used the day to launch its new vision
foi. mission. Tliis event was a great success which di'eiv a lot of people from around the county and

Income for the year decreased by £37.300. to £235,301 12024: £272,601), of this, £838 was rc%trieled

Cash increased by £2.682, to £34? 997 (2024.. £340,315), unie5tritted reserves de¢r¢￿ed by £43.887
to £346.53] 12024= £390,418) and resii'icied reserves stood ai £838. '1'he accumulated reserves are
being cai'ried forward far future charitable activities. The trustees are satisfied with the cliai'itj's
overiill results for tlie ycai..
Reservcs gnd Jnvestment Policies
It is tlie tTLlStees' inteniion ihat sufficient uncommittcd funds should be held to nieet six months,
expenditure, which would equate to approximately £140,000.
Reserves are tliat pait ol. a Lliarily's unrestricted funds that is frccl}' available to spend on any of the
¢hariry's purposes. Oli thi8 b&%i8, Ihe charity's Rc%erves were api)roxiinaiely £343,000 at the year-end.
This figure is arrivcd at by deduciing tangible fixed assets of £3,777 froni the charity's total
unreslricted funds of £346,i31. The Reserves are predominantly held in cash.
The trustees may invest surplus funds at their discretion, and have chosen to hold these in ingtant
access, inierest-bearing bank deposit accounts, since variances in monthly income and expenditure.

SENT and The Ark
Early in 2025, we were advised The Sisters of il)e Institute of Oui. Lady of Mcrcy, Ivha have
gencrously allowed il)e Con)munity to reside at SEN-I. (their building in Elrentwood), iequired the
building back at the cnd of 2025. We vacated the building at the end of 2025 and numemus fixed
85seis have been scrapped and this has bcen reflected in thc accounts.
Separately and independently, Ili¢ Con&Fr¢giaiion of the Sistei's of Charity of St Paul tli¢ Ap05tle, wlio
are generou51y allowing us to reside at The Ark in Coveiitiy. have advised us ihat they are undertaking
a review across all tlieir pi'opertieg. We have expressed our interest to reinain residcnt at Tlle Ark and
since oui. departurc t'i'om SENT hav¢ Tnoved the Community to The Ark. However, this matter is
currently uiider review.
Also, Ive have had a provisi()n in the dccounts foi. many years to cover the costs of exiting buildings
{e.g. for redecordiion). but we have been advised thai Iliere ￿e no obligTations for the charily in resp¢¢t
of such costs and therefore, the tru8tees consider such a provision 1% no longer necessary and this lias
been released in these accounts.

Risk Mana%ement Statemenl
'I'he truslees are not actively involved in the day-to-day runningF of the charity, Ihis being the
responsibility of tlie Communil}' itself and specifically its Leadership leani. However. they maintain a
risk I'egistei. and nionitor all risks at each of tl)eir thi'ee meeiings a year and perform an in-depth review
of thcsc I'isks annually, in January. Each risk is eiialiiated on the basis of how likely it is to occur and,
sliould it occur. its piobable impact on tlie Comniiinity. 'I'he trustees iegard ihe possibility of losing
kcy p¢isoniicl as its pi'incipal risk, aloi)g with an economic downturii adveisely affcctiiig its incon)c.
'I'lic trustees ask the l.eadership team to formiilate plans to mitigate or elimiiiate risks, and to feed
tlicse back to tlie trustees for review.

responsibilities of botli the Community and the trusiees (heinselves, and how the paraineters of the
woi'king ielatioi)ship operate.
Relationsbips with other Groups, Ch#rities and Individuals
Thc charity Works closely with the Roman Catholic Cliurch, the Ceili Community (based in Ircland)
and othei. church groups to acliicvc i(s chai'itabl¢ objects.
One cl)arity I￿1th similar objectives lo our own and with which we work closely is 'l'he National
Sci'vice Comiiiiltee for Catliolic Charisinatic Renewal Sei'vices in England ￿]d Walcs, known as
CRF.W Trust,. Nichol￿ Wells is a current trustee.
Member5 aDd Volunteers
Tlic cliai'ity lias a nuiiiber of individuals assistiiig with its activities for a fixed p¢i'iod. These
individuals are called menibers and rhey are entitled to fees at an agreed rate for services rendered.
The chai'ity's evangelisation ivork c()i)tinues to be carried oui by members. In addition, a considerable
numbei. of associates and volunteers provide services to assist tlie cliai'ity at no cliarge.
Tlie charity vets all applicaiions from prospeciive meiiibers and voluniee15, With particular attenlion
given to those who might work wilh ihe youno or other vulnerable groups. Appropi'iate training is
prnvidcd to all m¢niber£ and volunieers to ensiire ihat tliey arc equippcd for thciF r()Ic%.

Friends and Supporters
The charity undertakes specific fundi'aising activities and provides frieiids and supporters willi an
opportui)ily to find out more about ils Iioj'k at the vai'ious events in which it is involved. The chai'ity
relies heavily on donations from a broad base of individual donors whose continuing 5UPPOrt is highly
valued.
Many organisations have also provided mucli iieeded support. Thc trustees are particularly grateful to
tl)e Sisters of Mercy, who liad iiiade the SENT centre in Brentwood available, and to the Sisters of
Charity of Si Paul the Apostle, who continue to make ihe Ark of the Covenant Cenlre in Coventry
available.

Donations and legiacies are included in the statement of financial activities when the chai'ity becoines

certainty that ihe income ivill be receivcd.
Income froni Inissions and other event% organised by the charity 15 rccognised on a pro-rala b￿15 until
such time as the mission or event is completed. The balance of any income is treatcd as deferred, as is
income received in advance ora mission or event.

Stock
Siocks are siatcd at the lower of cost and net reali%able value. Costs are based on the method most
appropriatc to the type of invcntoiy ¢lass, but u8ually on a first-in-first-out basis. Net i'ealisable valu¢ is
based on the cgtimated selling pi-ice less sellii)g costs.
When stocks are sold. the cariying amount of those stocks is retogFnis¢d as an expcnse in the period in
