The objectives of the Trust the upholdin¥ and devclopments of stalldards of educatio￿ trainillg and
eomp¢t¢nc¢ for those working within, OT coilliected with, the lift and escalator industy and the promotion of
such standard5 in the int¢r¢sts of employees and the publi¢ at large.
Itl setting out the Trnsi's objeetives th¢ Tn￿eeS have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission,
geoerdl gu]datLce on public benefit. Noi only the enhanc¢m¢nl of knowledge aijd expertisc but also with regard
to saf¢ use of products and esp¢¢ially in providing guidan¢e to assist owneTh in guiding the public in g¢nerdl.

The Trust'5 main activities, ¢onsisient with the furtherance of its objtttives. fall into two principal ar¢as:_
Management of education through Distan¢e L¢#rnin& a c¢)urBe by the LEIA Edu¢ational Trust - this can
involve up to 300 $tudetJts in any one academic ye￿.
The development and management of training through Qualification Credit Framework (QCF) developed
specifically for the lift and escalator industry in conjun¢uon with the EducatlOD Achievement and L¢aming
(EAL Ltd).
ACHIEVEMENfs AP4D PERFORMANCE
The strong demand for distance learning ￿gistratIOnS seen previoU￿y continued this year. The incre&%d demand
1$ not reflecied in th¢ Teported income owing to a 8ignificat)t proportion compl¢ting their studie5 after thc end of
the year.
Our long-stattding collaboration with the University continues.
An importartt Èroup of l¢arnet5 which the TD2st has support¢d this year is apprents¢es. Previously we reported
that the Tul¢s for ￿Ceiving apprenticeship funds changed making it a r¢quirem¢nt foT th¢ Trust to be on the
Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers {RoATPI. During the year. this transitioned to the Apprenticeship
Provider and Asscssment Register (APAR} on which the Trust is regiskrrd.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
The reserves at 30 September 2023 amount¢d to £466,389 (2022: £472,928)
The ad¢qua¢y of the reserves policy is reviewed annually.
PLANS FOR FtrruRE PERIODS
At the end of the year. we We￿ in discussion with the University of Northampton over the developm¢nt of new
Distance Leartling ullits aimed at supportlil8 the firture t)e¢ds of l¢amen ihroughout the inth]5ty.
