Section C Objectives and activities
Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document
The object of the Trust shall be the furtherance of the Christian faith to bring men and women to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth and to prepare God’s people for works of service so that the Body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God (1 Timothy 2:4; Ephesians 4:12-13).

In accordance with paragraph 3 of the Trust Deed, in 2021 the Open Bible Trust:
-
(1) Published 6 Christian magazines ( Search ), 6 Bible Study Booklets, and 3 new books.
-
(2) Due to lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic a monthly onehour mid-week Bible Study on Zoom was started. Also, quarterly three-hour Saturday afternoon conferences were held on Zoom. These continued in 2021.
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

(3) Continued to send Christian Magazines, literature and CDs free of charge to prisoners in Britain, people in nursing and care homes, and to ministers and pastors in Third World countries, mainly in Africa and Asia.

(4) Continued to try to get Christian resources to prison chaplains and prisoners.

(5) Due to lockdown, to help and encourage people, more booklets, pamphlets and graphics were added to the website as free downloads, bringing the total to 107. Also, more free Bible studies were put on YouTube, bringing the total to 276.

(6) Published more e-Books on Kindle and i-tunes, raising the number to over 340.

(7) Continued to develop the OBT Facebook site, especially to advertise publications, resources and forthcoming events.

(8) Continued to produce Amazon Kindle Digital Printing (KDP) paperbacks and have over 330 books in this format.

(9) Produced several new short YouTube videos for primary school children, suitable for use in assembly, RE lessons and Sunday School.
The Trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit.

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
-
(1) Search magazine and other publications were made available to the public for a modest fee and sent free to various prisoners and others in need in the UK, and to various people in the third world.

(2) The administrator undertook speaking engagements via Zoom in various churches in the South of England.
-
(3) Further work was undertaken on the OBT websites, its Facebook page and its YouTube site.
-
(4) Provided guest speakers, via Zoom, for the annual conference of the Berean Bible Fellowship of Australia, and for their weekly studies.
-
(5) Exhibited at Christian Resources Exhibitions and produced videos of seminars give for the CRE website.
-
(6) Considering to start podcasts, starting in 2022.
