Company law requlres the trustees to prepare financial 5tatemenis for each financial year which give a
true and fair view of the State of affair5 Of the charitable company and of the incoming resourcès and
application of resources, including the income and expenditure, of the charitable company for ihat
perlod. In pre￿rIng those financial statement5, the trustees are required to:
Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;
Observe the methods and principles in the Charity SORP;
Make judgements and estlmates that are reasonable Jnd prudent;
Prepare the financial statements on the going contern basls unless it is appropriate io presume

11 ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basls of preparlng the flnanclal statemenls
The financial statements of the charitable company. which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102.
have been prepared In accordance with the Charities SORP IFRS 102) ' Accountlng and Reportlng by
Charltles: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charltles preparlng their accounts in
accordance with the Financial Reportin8 Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS
1021 leffective I january 20191,. Flnanclal Reporting Standard 102 The Financial Reporting
Standard applicable In the UK and Republic of Ireland, and the Companies Act 2006. The financial
statements have been prepared under the hlstorical cost convention.
The Trustèes conslder that there are no materlal uncertaintiès about thè char•t¥'s ablllty to
contlnue as a goln8 concern.
Income
All incomlng resources are Included in the SOFA when the Charity Is legally entitled to the Sncome
and it is probable that the Income wlll be recelved and the amount can be measured reliably. Legal
entitlement Is ¢onsldered to be the comblnatlon of when the Contract for project work Is $18ned by
both parties and the contracted costs begln to accrue fo11owin8 work commenced on the project. so
as to match the Income generated against the costs Incurred on each project.
Incomln8 resources are classlfled as restrlcted, desl8nated or unrestrlcted In accordance with the
requirements of SORP 2015.
Restricted incomin8 resources are those that are subject to special conditions imposed by the
funder, and on completion of such a project any unspent funds will be returned to the funder.
Designated incomin8 resources are subject to special conditions imposed by the funder but on
completlon of such prolects any remalnlng balance Is transferred to the General Fund. Unrestrlcted
Incomlng resources are those funds that are not subject to any restrictions and can be expended at
the dlscretlon of the Trustees in furtherance of the Charlty's objectlves.
Expendlture
Liabilities are recognised a5 expenditure as 500n as there is a legal or constructive obligation
committing the charlty to that expendlture, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will
be required in settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured rellably. Expenditure
is accounted for on an accrual basi5 and has been classified under headlngs that aggregate all cost
related to the category. Where cos15 cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have
been allocated to activities on the basis consistent with the use of resources.

therefore it meets the definition of a charitable company for UK Corporation Tax purposes.

reeeived wlthln categorles covered by Chapter 3 Part 11 Corporation Tax Act 2010 or Section 256 of
the Taxatlon of Chargeable Gains Act 1992, to the extent that such Income or 8alns are applled
e¥clu5ively to charitable purpose5.

Unrestricted funds can be used In accordance wlth the charitoble objectives at the discretlon of the
trustees.
Restrlcted funds Can only be used for partlcular restrlcted purposes within the objects of the
charity. Restrictions aiise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular
restrlcted purposes.

Assts and liabilities in foreign currencies are translated into sterllng at the rates ol exchange ruling
at the balance sheet date. Transactions in forÈi8n currenties are translated into sterling at the rate
of exchange rulin8 at the date ot transaction. Exchange differences are taken into account in
arfivlng at the operatln8 result.
Opeiatln8 leases
Rentals payable under operating leases are char8ed to the Statement of Financial Activities in the
vear in whlch they are payable.
Film library
The company has a Ilbrèry of films comprlslng of films made since the formation of the company In
1984. The value of these fllms to the company is the value of the future income flows that will come
from the sale of these fllms. or footage from them. Owing to the uncertalnty of these future flows.
no value is ascribed to the fllm Ilbrary in these Financial Statements.
