The trustees submit their aunual rep)rt and financial statements for the British Society for
Ecological Medicine (the cl]8rity) for the year ended 31" December 2024. These bave IKen
prepared in accordance with the accounting FK)li¢i¢s s¢t out on page 9 and comply Trvith the
Charities Constitution and charity law.

The Society is a registered cbarity number 326372 and the registered office address is

4. Structurey govern4n¢e and management
The charity was founded in 1983 and is governed by its constitution. The constitution was
last revised in March 2014 and has been appmv¢d by tbe Cl]aTity Commission.
The resources of the charity are nIain￿Thed in unrestricted funds Bnd therefore the trustees
have complete discretion as to their use.
Any money or property not immediately r¢quir¢d for the cbarity's purposes can bc hcld or
invested &8 the trustees decide.
5. Appolntment and removal oftrustee8
The aPPOilltment and removal of trustees is governed by the charity's COD5titution.

Organi8ation and management
The trustees and other memb¢rs of the committe¢ meet every two months alld members are
cicded on to the committee at the Annual General Meeting according to the Constitution.
All meetings, minutes aTe now stored electronically. In 2017 celltr￿ doCun￿1ts includmg
Risk Review. Volunteer and Confiicts of Interest Policies were reviewed and amended to
the ncw circumstances (online training).
7. Investment powers
The clwity's cash resources can be invested at the discretion ofthe trustees they see fit.
No investments werc made in 2024 (2023: nonc).
8. Obje¢tIV￿ And activits￿ for the public benefit
The objectives of the charity are to protllote for the benefit of the public the study and good
practice of ￿lergy, environmental and nlltritional medicine 2nd to improve the standard of
knowledge of the means of prevention, diagnosis and method5 of tr¢atmeDt. Th¢ society
continues to Organise practicd traini￿ days as well as the online courses.
The trustees have referred to the g¢neTal guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity
Commission when planning futLwe activities.
9. FiDanclal Review
The accounts show an excess of expenditu￿ over income of £6,619 (2023: £24,080. At
? l December 20?A the society had accumulated fijnds of £82,756 (2023: £89:375)- The
trustecs consider that this is a sth'sfactory rcsulL
10. Activities in 2024
Dwing 2024 we achieved an enornious amount. We..
Organised and ran a highly successful conference entitled Unravclling Brain
Health. This was one of our largcst and most successfijl conferences since 2015.
b. Continued our ongoing and ever-expanding programme of training sessioLL8 and
workshops with both in person attendance and on-line availability.
c. Finisbcd the main work on thc Monogrnph Proj￿¢ allowing us to move into a last
stage of editing and publishing which we expect to achieve durlllg 2025.
(L Almost completed our systems and proce&8 modenjisation to provide a better
platfomi for rnembers. Wc expcct this to be rolled out in the first half of 2025.
e. Created a video celebration of the achievements of BSEM in its frst 40 years to
sbow how far we have com¢.
I l. Plans for the future
tn 2025 wc plan to:
& Continue to develop and extend our programrne of training pnd support for
practitioners and trAinees, including the roll out of the new on-line training material
developed in ¢onjunction with S¢opro.
b. Complet¢ the roll out of the new systems and processes including our new website
to give members better and smoother access to BSEM and its resources.
Publish the material developed in the Monograph Project.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the acc4)unts of the British Socity for Ecological
Medicine for the year ended 31 December 2024.

As the clwity triLStees of the Society. you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts
in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act,).
I report in tcspect of my cxamination of the Society's accounts as required under section 145
of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my exati)ination I have followed the applicable
Directions given by the Cbarity Commission un(kr section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
