to time to or for the purpose5 of such charitable bodies, assc*iation5 and organisations or forsuch other charitable purposes

The principal actmty undertaken by the charity to further its charitable purpose is to make grants of funds to other charities.

grant wa5 made to any individual person.
The organisations supported cover a wide range of activities related to human and animal welfare. induding community support.
Financial Review. Going Concern and Reserves Pollty
Total income for the year amounted to £44,95912020: £50.2981. This consists of dividends on investments, together with a very
small amount of bank interest. Investment managementfee5 of £8.67512020-. £8,9401 ano governance costs of £55012020.. £5941
were incurred, leaving £35,734 net income12020.. £40.7641. The payment of £58.150 in grants12020.. £65.0501 therefore rneant
an operating deficit forthe year of £22.41612020'. defiot £24,286).
Investment value5 showed a strong recovery during the year. Sale5 of variou5 holdtn85 within the investment portfolio during the
year reali5ed a gain of £33,60812020.. loss £6,434) whilst the year end valuation produced an unrealised gain of £268.70412020=
loss £228,0911. The overall gBin on investments in the year therefore amounted to £302,31212020..1055 £234.5251, bringing the
year end value of the portfolio to £1,338,11612020.. £1.027,4271 .
Thè result of the above is that the total funds of the charity at the end of the year stood at £1.392.7621202fr. £1.112.8661. The
Trustees. preference 15 to preserve the value of the investment portFolio, which 15 managed on their behalf by Chartes Stanley &
Company Ltd. For thts reason. the value of the porrfolio is ￿garded by the Trustee5 as designated fvnds. This means that, of the
total funds, free reserves atyear end amounted to £54.64612020'. £85.4391_ Given the low level of administrative costs Incurred
by the charity, theTrustees believe that this level of r&erves 15 adequate to ensure the ongoin8viabilityof the charity.
Covld-19 and futurè
Akthou8h the pandemic per515ts the recovery in investment values is not c¢m￿dered to be at risk currentty. Further investment
83ins, however, are likely to be MO￿ 8radual.
The antiopated downward pressure on dividends throughout the year t5 likely to continue for some tlme. It is unlikely. therefore,
that the charivs income will increase significantly in 2021122 but some recovery is antiupated in subsequent years. This mean5
that whilst the level of grants can be maintained in the short term it will become more dependent on the perforniance of
dividéFEds year byyear.
Structure, Governan￿ and Management
